'Greening', 'digitalizing' Van Xuan urban area

Van Xuan Ward was established on the basis of merging 4 wards: Nam Tien, Dong Tien, Tan Huong and Tien Phong. Taking advantage of being the convergence point of large industrial parks such as Yen Binh 1, Yen Binh 2, the ward has focused on developing synchronous infrastructure, gradually becoming a driving force for development in the South of the province. With the goal of taking "greening" as the foundation for sustainable development, a series of green construction projects have been approved and implemented synchronously.

While many other localities in the province are still struggling with the problem of planning green land, Van Xuan has boldly allocated a large land fund to invest in building green parks, regulating lakes, and community playgrounds. The highlight is the park and regulating lake with a total area of 18.31 hectares. With a total investment of more than 300 billion VND, this project is expected to be completed in 2025.

The park and lake project is systematically planned with a large area, invested synchronously with infrastructure such as: walking path system, resting benches, children's playground, outdoor exercise area and especially ecological water surface space to help regulate the regional climate. This is not only a simple infrastructure project but also a symbol of green urban development thinking - taking people as the center.

Nearby, 2-9 Park is planned adjacent to Van Xuan Square with an area of up to 22 hectares. This park not only has the function of creating green space, a place for people to play and live, but it is also a space to organize community cultural and sports activities. This project is expected to be completed in 2026.

Thus, in Van Xuan ward, 2 green parks are being implemented and it is also the pioneer in implementing green park projects in the province. These are also considered 2 green lungs in the heart of the city. With the determination in directing and consensus among the people, many internal green tree routes have also been planted synchronously, covering the median strips, public works, and new residential areas.

Along with increasing green areas for the city, Van Xuan focuses on implementing urban areas and concentrated residential areas. Currently, the ward has 14 major projects being implemented with a total area of over 250 hectares, with a total investment of over 1,645 billion VND. At the same time, the ward promotes the application of digital technology in urban management and public administration.

From the work of receiving and processing documents to the system of reflecting on the scene, the digital database of infrastructure is updated, helping to improve the effectiveness of management and direction. In particular, digital infrastructure is prioritized for strong development, associated with the goal of developing smart cities as a long-term strategy in transforming the economic model.

Van Xuan clearly identified: Innovation, science and technology and digital economy are the “three spearheads” for breakthrough. Currently, the locality is also testing digital platforms to support people to reflect and make recommendations right on mobile devices.

Comrade Tran Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Van Xuan Ward Party Committee, said: Aiming to build Van Xuan into a high-tech industrial center in the South of the province, the ward is developing industrial parks, combined with comprehensive upgrading of urban infrastructure, administrative reform, digital transformation and training of high-quality human resources. Thereby, it aims to open a chain of links between economic development and urban modernization.

Not stopping at “green” and “digital”, the ward also aims for sustainable growth, focusing on people. A series of specific targets set by 2030 are: 100% of people have access to clean water from a centralized water supply system, the rate of collection and treatment of domestic waste reaches 95%, the rate of wastewater treated meets urban standards, the rate of green public procurement reaches at least 35%, 5G mobile network coverage to all residents...
