The family reviewed the original diary of Heroic Martyr Vu Xuan before transferring it to National Archives Center III. |
Heroic martyr Vu Xuan, an outstanding son of his homeland Thai Nguyen , left us today and tomorrow a priceless diary. The diary recorded in detail two of the three military campaigns he went through during his 10 years in the army, especially the third campaign, from his homeland Thai Nguyen to the southernmost land of the Fatherland.
Heroically sacrificed in 1974 at the age of 28, Martyr Vu Xuan had 10 years of military service, marched nearly 10,000 kilometers, experienced hundreds of fierce battles in the battlefields: Truong Son, Laos, Cambodia and the Southwest, leaving behind valuable diaries. One of the diaries was kept by his comrade-in-arms Ngo Ha Thai for 30 years.
This same friend brought the remains of the martyrs back to the motherland. Through the diary, the next generation always sees a soldier Vu Xuan who is enthusiastic, lives with ideals and goals, always reminds his comrades and also reminds himself: "To have everything, there must be people who dare to dedicate and sacrifice everything...".
More than 200 pages of diary contain many memories, feelings, aspirations and dreams. The honesty and liveliness of the glorious days as well as the pure, optimistic soul, passionate love, burning hatred of the soldier.
