Phuong Thien Commune commends 5 brave individuals for saving drowning people

BHG - On the morning of June 15, Phuong Thien commune (Ha Giang city) held a ceremony to honor 5 citizens who acted quickly and bravely to save a child from a drowning accident that occurred a few days earlier.

Phuong Thien commune leaders awarded certificates of merit to individuals who bravely saved drowning people.

The incident occurred at around 4 p.m. on June 12 at a pond in Chang village, Phuong Thien commune. While playing near the pond, Nguyen Thuy Duong (4 years old) suddenly slipped and fell into the water. Discovering the incident, a group of nearby residents immediately coordinated the rescue. Mr. Nguyen Van The was the one who jumped into the pond to rescue the child. Immediately afterwards, Mr. Nguyen Van Vuong, a school medical officer , promptly performed first aid at the scene.

After receiving first aid, Duong was taken to Duc Minh General Hospital for monitoring and treatment. Thanks to the timely response, responsibility and effective support of the rescuers, his health has stabilized, leaving no regrettable sequelae.

At the ceremony, Phuong Thien commune awarded certificates of merit and prizes to 5 citizens in the commune including: Nguyen Van The, Nguyen Van Vuong, Nguyen Van Trang, Nguyen Thanh Lan and Nguyen Cong Thong. These are individuals who are exemplary in their bravery, loyalty, and high sense of community responsibility, contributing to spreading profound human values in social life.
