Not only that, Nam Thanh people also grow corn, beans, cashews, coffee, and there is a model of rotating lotus with rice, growing lotus to raise fish... And recently, an investor came to discuss renting 5% of the commune's land to grow mulberry to raise silkworms. According to initial calculations, this is a model that brings high economic efficiency.
Looking at the “collection” of crops in Nam Thanh, it can be seen that this is a fertile, diverse land suitable for many types of crops. The people are also of the “old farmer” class, so whatever crop they plant grows well and brings high efficiency. Therefore, the people have diverse sources of income from crops, making people from other places exclaim: Nam Thanh is a land that pleases people.
Not only that, according to the leader of Nam Thanh Commune People's Committee, there are about 1,000 people working in industrial clusters in Tra Tan Commune. In addition, people in the commune also participate in sewing, peeling cashew nuts, lotus seeds at home or sewing establishments located in residential areas. In addition, there is also money sent back from children working in other provinces and cities... All of this has brought the average income per capita of the commune in 2024 to 64.13 million VND, estimated to reach 68 million VND by the end of 2025. Recently, the commune has had 2 more projects approved for investment with a total capital of nearly 60 billion VND, in the field of high-tech organic agricultural processing and petroleum trading. Thereby, marking the beginning of large projects to be invested in the commune.
According to the political report presented to the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of Nam Thanh commune, in the coming time, the commune will increase the proportion of industry and services, reduce the proportion of agriculture at a reasonable level, so the average income per capita by 2030 will be set at over 110 million VND. This is a very high increase.
