On July 29, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital informed that Master, Doctor Nguyen Tung Son, Department of Interventional Cardiology - Respiratory, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Center of the hospital, has just won first prize in the "Young Investigator Award" (YIA) competition in Southeast Asia.
At the competition, Dr. Son reported on the topic: "The technique of "opening the window" to recanalize the left subclavian artery in the treatment of zone 2 thoracic aortic disease" - a new approach in the treatment of complex cardiovascular diseases.
The award is a recognition of the research capacity, innovative thinking and professional qualities of the young generation of Vietnamese-German doctors, and at the same time contributes to affirming the position of Vietnamese medicine in the regional scientific forum.
AFCC is the most prestigious cardiovascular congress in Southeast Asia, gathering thousands of experts and cardiologists from countries in the region and internationally.
The "Young Southeast Asian Researchers" (YIA) competition is not only an important academic competition in the AFCC program, but also motivates young doctors and young researchers to actively participate in research.
At the same time, develop new ideas and approach cardiovascular issues from a scientific-clinical perspective, helping to nurture research talent and contribute to building a strong and specialized regional cardiovascular community.
