With the spirit of "Wherever there is a need, there are youth, wherever there is difficulty, there are youth", the "green shirt soldiers" are not afraid of difficulties and hardships, together with local union members and youth, they have proactively carried out many practical projects and tasks, contributing to building new rural areas and spreading humanistic values to the community.

As soon as they arrived in the locality, the students started to carry out many specific tasks such as: Organizing a summer playground for children, clearing land, planting trees, cleaning up to create a “green - clean - beautiful” landscape; propagating dengue fever prevention; participating in mass mobilization work in residential areas along the sea dike. These tasks, although small, are meaningful, demonstrating the spirit of volunteering for the community of the youth.

In response to the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), the volunteer team coordinated with Gia Thuan Commune Youth Union to organize many gratitude activities such as: Cleaning, offering incense at the martyrs' cemetery; giving funds to repair houses, giving gifts to families of war invalids, martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution.

These practical actions demonstrate the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" and contribute to educating traditions for the younger generation.

In addition, students also support localities in promoting electronic identification, contributing to local authorities in effectively implementing digital transformation.

The highlight of the series of activities was the campfire exchange night, which was held enthusiastically, imbued with solidarity between students and local people. The performances, group games and moments of gathering around the campfire left many beautiful impressions in the hearts of the people and young people.

Sharing her feelings after the trip, Nguyen Thi Tuyen Tuyen, a third-year student, said: “The Green Summer Campaign is an opportunity to practice physical strength and teamwork skills, while also helping me better understand people's lives and appreciate simple, familiar things from reality.”

An Thi Thanh Tuyen, a second-year student from the Department of Land Management, said: “I feel very happy and proud to participate in the campaign. This is an emotional journey that helps me become more mature, live more responsibly and feel that I am truly useful to society.”

More than 40 students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment had a special and meaningful summer in Gia Thuan commune, Dong Thap province.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Phong, Secretary of Gia Thuan Commune Youth Union, highly appreciated the volunteer spirit and enthusiasm of the students during their time "stationed" in the commune.
