Vietnam has enough conditions to build international financial centers.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that the International Financial Center (IFC) is a new model in Vietnam but has been operating for a long time in Switzerland. Therefore, Vietnam hopes that Swiss agencies and experts will share and give appropriate recommendations to Vietnam in building, managing and operating the IFC in Vietnam.
The Chairman of the National Assembly also said that despite many difficulties and challenges from the impacts of the world and regional situation, Vietnam has achieved remarkable results in socio -economic development in recent times, contributing to stabilizing the macro- economy and curbing inflation. Notably, the Vietnamese National Assembly has promptly amended and issued new laws and resolutions to promote international economic integration and boost investment and trade cooperation with other countries. On June 27, the Vietnamese National Assembly passed Resolution No. 222/2025/QH15 regulating the establishment, operation, management, supervision and specific mechanisms and policies applicable to international financial centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang to attract capital and promote new growth drivers.

Swiss delegates and experts highly appreciated Vietnam’s decision to build an international financial market, saying that this is a strategic issue, closely linked to the trend of deep integration of the global financial system. The delegates also expressed their confidence and emphasized that Vietnam has sufficient conditions to build international financial markets.
At the seminar, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Finance and the Swiss-Vietnam Economic Forum on enhancing investment cooperation and developing international financial markets; and a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Finance and the Swiss FinTech Association on cooperation in developing international financial markets.

On behalf of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, the National Assembly Chairman sincerely thanked the sentiments that the Swiss-Vietnam Friendship Association and Ms. Anjuska Marija Weil personally have shown to Vietnam; thanked her for taking the time to attend the event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification (1975 - 2025) in Ho Chi Minh City recently. "Vietnam appreciates the contributions that the Swiss-Vietnam Friendship Association has made to Vietnam, not only in spirit but also through mobilizing donations for charitable and humanitarian activities, supporting the poor. The Association has supported Vietnam in activities such as building schools, supporting leprosy patients, and supporting victims of Agent Orange," the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.
The National Assembly Chairwoman hopes that, in her role as Chairwoman of the Friendship Association, Ms. Anjuska Marija Weil will continue to be a bridge and have practical activities to contribute to promoting the Vietnam - Switzerland Comprehensive Partnership in the coming time.
On the afternoon of July 27 local time, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga met with officials and staff of Vietnamese representative agencies and the Vietnamese community in Switzerland.
The Chairman of the National Assembly respectfully conveyed the greetings of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to the staff of Vietnamese representative agencies and all compatriots.
The National Assembly Chairman suggested that leaders of Vietnamese representative agencies should further promote the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws to the people, especially breakthrough policies, strategies, newly issued policies and laws... At the same time, continue to pay attention to and promptly resolve difficulties, concerns and legitimate aspirations of the people; effectively implement the Party's and State's policies and guidelines, including Resolution 36, Directive 45, and Conclusion 12 on strengthening work with overseas Vietnamese.
The National Assembly Chairman hopes that the Vietnamese community in Switzerland will continue to promote patriotism, solidarity, and further strengthen foreign relations, diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, culture, education, health care, etc. with the host country.
