Korean boxer gets bitter end for unbelievable action that makes opponent cry

On September 24, the women's 48kg Judo semi-final match took place between two fighters Abiba Abuzhakynova (Kazakhstan) and Lee Hye-kyeong.

Boxer Lee Hye-kyeong (blue) was disqualified for slapping her opponent.

When the score was 0-0 and there were only 2 minutes left, Hye-kyeong suddenly slapped Abuzhakynova in the face.

Receiving an unexpected slap from his opponent, the Kazakh boxer covered his face and cried right on the ring.

After examination, the slap from Lee Hye-kyeong caused a tear below Abuzhakynova's left eye.

According to Judo rules, athletes are not allowed to use their hands to hit their opponent's face. Therefore, Hye-kyeong broke the rules.

After reviewing the situation, the referees determined that the Korean boxer had broken the rules and was disqualified.

Lee Hye-kyeong was not even allowed to attend the third-place match that took place afterwards.

It is known that the head coach of the Korean Judo team went directly to the referees to complain, claiming that Lee Hye-kyeong did not do it on purpose.

But the referee did not change his decision and affirmed that the female athlete from the land of Kim Chi had committed unsportsmanlike behavior.

As for boxer Abuzhakynova, she later reached the final but lost to Natsumi Tsunoda and received silver medal.
