Viettel Telecom Corporation (Viettel Telecom) said that in order to serve the very large-scale events taking place simultaneously throughout the streets of Hanoi such as the military parade on the morning of September 2 at Ba Dinh Square, a series of high-altitude fireworks displays and many "huge" cultural and artistic events on weekends such as the national concert, Fatherland in the Heart, V-Concert..., Viettel Mobile Network is urgently adding equipment, people, and technical solutions to best serve the needs of people and organizations on this occasion.

Specifically, Viettel has built a comprehensive operational plan with more than 2,400 technical solutions, 7 times the workload to ensure the A50 event taking place in Ho Chi Minh City. Of which, Viettel installed 500 new 5G BTS stations, and for the first time in Vietnam, 1,200 5G small cells were deployed in crowded places. In addition, 700 temporary 4G stations and 25 mobile broadcasting vehicles were also mobilized to serve the people on the occasion of the National Day on September 2.

With 1,700 newly installed 5G stations, both large and small, Viettel's 5G network will cover all parade and march locations as well as events celebrating the National Day on September 2. Small 5G stations are deployed along the routes to help increase internet capacity and speed at crowded places, sharing the load for the 4G network. These devices are not only powerful but also aesthetic, and can be easily installed without affecting the urban landscape.

It is expected that about 2.9 million people will flock to the parade area, of which about 900,000 will travel from other provinces and cities. Compared to normal days, people's needs will not only be surfing the web or watching movies, but also livestreaming, video calling, posting high-quality photos and videos.
Each person, with a smartphone in hand, will become a "mobile TV station", creating unprecedented pressure on the network. To solve that problem, Viettel's 5G system is designed to automatically prioritize connections to the "5G highway" when available. By proactively "attracting" users with the highest data needs to 5G, Viettel will help the 4G network not be overloaded. That helps everyone, whether using 4G or 5G devices, have a better experience.

On this occasion, for the first time, AI was used by Viettel engineers to optimize the network. Based on data on event schedules, airfares, hotel rooms, posts, and social media likes, Viettel engineers used AI models to predict the most crowded locations, “hot” times, and travel behavior. From there, network resources will be reasonably ensured.
The X-Optimization (XO) system combines AI to optimize network quality based on customer behavior. The system continuously monitors the network and automatically makes adjustments in near real-time. Every 5 minutes, AI automatically adjusts coverage, directing the signal to the right place where users are, reducing interference in neighboring areas.
In addition, when the broadcasting stations show signs of being overloaded, the system will immediately redirect users to the "free" stations next to them. With that capacity, Viettel is ready to help people spread historical moments when the parade blocks pass the stage, when the brilliant fireworks light up the sky of Hanoi.
