YouTube Shopping Boosts Vietnam E-commerce

In just one year since its launch in Vietnam, YouTube Shopping has helped drive more than 500% increase in shopping watch time and expanded e-commerce opportunities for thousands of creators. More than 55% of eligible creators have joined the affiliate marketing program, tapping into new revenue streams and deeper connections with viewers.

In partnership with Shopee, the platform has recorded over 2.4 million tagged products in millions of videos. With a series of new features such as product tagging on short videos, displaying the exact time a product appears and saving product information, YouTube is affirming its role as a driving force for creative commerce and the digital economy in Vietnam.

TikTok gets extension to operate in the US

TikTok continues to operate in the US after ban is extended again. Although Congress has passed a law banning TikTok unless parent company ByteDance sells a controlling stake, the deadline has been extended three times so far.

The next renewal is scheduled for September 17. While transfer negotiations are still ongoing, the continued renewals suggest that the likelihood of TikTok being banned in the US in the near future is very low.

Most recently, US President Donald Trump revealed that there is a group of potential investors who could buy TikTok. But at present, there is still no clear move to prove this.

Vivo's First Mixed Reality Glasses Launched

Technology company vivo has officially launched its first mixed reality (MR) glasses product called vivo Vision Discovery Edition, marking a strategic step forward in the field of spatial computing and immersive technology.

Weighing just 398g, measuring 83mm in height and 40mm in thickness, the device is 26% smaller than the industry average. It has a compact design, optimized for everyday use, and comes with OriginOS Vision, which allows users to switch from “touch screen” to “touch and zoom”.

The device's performance is also greatly upgraded thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon® XR2+ Gen 2 chip, with 2.5 times the GPU performance and 8 times the AI performance compared to the previous generation. This enables high-speed spatial rendering, serving a variety of scenarios such as entertainment, e -sports , games and work.

UN Women opens AI school exclusively for women

Facing the risk of women being left behind in the artificial intelligence revolution, UN Women has launched an online training program called “AI School” to equip female leaders, entrepreneurs, climate justice activists and experts in the Asia-Pacific region with AI knowledge and skills.

Women are underrepresented in AI training data, less involved in system design, and are at greater risk of losing their jobs than men. An ILO report found that AI could displace nearly 10% of female jobs in high-income countries, compared to just 3.5% for men.

The school’s founder, Emad Karim, says the goal is to help women become “AI literate” – understanding the technology’s paradigms, risks and potential. The curriculum ranges from fundamentals to AI ethics and prompt engineering.

According to UN Women, nearly half of the 133 AI systems analyzed exhibited gender bias, perpetuating traditional or stereotyped roles. The male-dominated nature of AI engineering also contributes to the “almost invisible” status of women in the field.
