On July 1, the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel) started construction of Viettel Da Nang Building on the east bank of the Han River, Da Nang.

Viettel Da Nang Building is architecturally designed inspired by the letter "V" - symbolizing the Viettel brand.

The project consists of two main buildings, fully integrated with functions serving research, core technology development, product testing, data center operations and work of hundreds of high-tech experts, engineers and researchers.

The group said this is where it deploys key areas of telecommunications, information technology, logistics, aerospace, telecommunications electronics, artificial intelligence, cyber security, cloud computing, etc.

At the same time, the building is also oriented to become an open ecosystem, supporting research cooperation, incubating solutions and developing technology human resources for the entire region.

According to Major General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group, in addition to the above project, in the coming time Viettel will continue to deploy two other important technology projects.

Including the ALC Da Nang submarine cable landing station, expected to start construction in the third quarter in Ngu Hanh Son ward.

This is Vietnam's 6th international submarine cable, connecting many countries in the region such as East Asia with a total capacity of up to 18,000 Gbps, playing a key role in digital connection infrastructure.

In addition, in the first quarter of 2026, Viettel will also start construction of the Viettel Data Center project in Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, the largest Uptime Tier 3 standard data center in the Central region, with a capacity of 14MW - effectively serving the digital transformation process of the region.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said that the construction of Viettel Da Nang Building is not only important as the first major project to welcome the government under the new government model after the merger in Da Nang, but also an event marking a strategic step in the development orientation of the high-tech infrastructure.

According to Mr. Triet, Da Nang is entering a new stage of development, with the goal of becoming an international financial center, developing free trade zones, port logistics systems, etc.

Therefore, Viettel Group's projects play an important role in the long-term development of Da Nang city.

"Viettel's building can be a place where domestic and foreign businesses and organizations can visit, experience and connect to cooperate in the digital transformation process; support the deployment of digital platforms for smart governance, promote digital investment, digital finance and attract high-quality capital flows into the city," said Mr. Triet.
