Vietnam - Laos promote cooperation in training officials and developing high-quality human resources

On the afternoon of June 3, within the framework of his official visit to Vietnam, Mr. Bounleua ​​Phandanouvong, Acting Head of the External Relations Commission of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, led a delegation to visit and work at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics. Here, the two sides agreed to continue to strengthen cooperation in the field of political theory training, training of leaders, managers and human resource development, making practical contributions to the revolutionary cause of each country.

Also attending were representatives of the leaders of the Academy's functional units such as the Academy Office, Department of International Cooperation, Department of Science Management, Institute of Politics and International Relations, Department of Training Management, Center for Technology and Digital Transformation, Office of Project 621.

At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duy Bac gave an overview of the position, role and development orientation of the Academy - the high-level Party School of the Communist Party of Vietnam . He affirmed that the Academy always maintains close and effective cooperation with relevant agencies of Laos in training and fostering cadres, especially the relationship between the Academy and the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration. This relationship always receives active coordination from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Lao Embassy in Vietnam.

Regarding the new organizational structure, Mr. Nguyen Duy Bac said that from the end of 2024, following the policy of streamlining the apparatus, the Academy has taken over all functions of training and fostering civil servants from the National Academy of Public Administration and established the Academy of Public Administration and Administration. Currently, the Academy consists of six affiliated units, including the Academy of Journalism and Communication, the Academy of Public Administration and Administration and four regional academies.

There are currently nearly 200 Laotian postgraduates, students and undergraduates studying at the Academy. The Permanent Deputy Director affirmed that the Academy is committed to creating the most favorable conditions for Laotian students to study and research. He hopes to continue receiving attention and guidance from Lao leaders to promote cooperation in developing high-quality human resources to serve the revolutionary cause of the two countries.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Bounleua ​​Phandanouvong highly appreciated the role of the Academy in training leaders and managers for Laos in recent times. He emphasized that many Lao officials have grown up from the learning environment at the Academy, making practical contributions to the country's development. He expressed his impression of the process of restructuring the organization and streamlining the apparatus of the Academy, saying that this is an important step in line with current development requirements.

Thanking the Vietnamese Party and State for creating favorable learning conditions for Lao students, Mr. Bounleua ​​Phandanouvong emphasized that this is a valuable opportunity for Lao cadres to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical experience. In his new position, he affirmed that he will closely coordinate with relevant Lao agencies to further promote cooperation in cadre training and human resource development between the two countries.
