Promoting Vietnam - China judicial cooperation

On June 5, in Beijing (China), within the framework of the visit to China of the working delegation of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Le Minh Tri visited and worked with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in China.

According to the Vietnamese Embassy in China, speaking at the reception, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh affirmed that the working trip of Chief Justice Le Minh Tri is of great significance in concretizing the high-level common perceptions and the Joint Statement in the field of judicial cooperation between the two countries. Thereby contributing to promoting the healthy and stable development of Vietnam - China relations.

Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh reported on the bilateral relations and the results of the Embassy's work in recent times in the fields of politics - diplomacy, economy, culture, consular affairs and citizen protection. The Ambassador emphasized that judicial and court cooperation between the two countries is one of the bright spots in the context of many positive developments in Vietnam - China relations, especially in the year of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the Vietnam - China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025.

The Ambassador affirmed that in the coming time, the Embassy will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, proactiveness and creativity to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people, contributing more to the development of the country as well as the friendly neighborly relationship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and China.

At the meeting, Chief Justice Le Minh Tri shared about the current development situation of the country and major orientations in the new period. He affirmed that in the process of promoting rapid and sustainable development, the judiciary and courts play an important role in building a socialist rule-of-law state, especially in applying digital technology and innovating the trial model.

Chief Justice Le Minh Tri highly appreciated the role of the Vietnamese Embassy in China in foreign affairs, especially in connecting and effectively supporting domestic agencies, ministries, sectors and localities to cooperate with the Chinese side. He expressed his belief that the Embassy will continue to be an important bridge, making substantial contributions to deepening bilateral relations.

Regarding the purpose of this visit, Chief Justice Le Minh Tri said that the delegation will consult and exchange experiences with Chinese authorities on emerging issues in the judicial field, such as establishing specialized courts, applying artificial intelligence and modern technology to trial activities.
