The two tournaments include the 2025 National Youth Taekwondo Championship, taking place from June 19 to 26 in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing together outstanding young martial artists from across the country. The tournament is an important playground to discover and select additional talents for the national team.
Next up is the Vietnam International Taekwondo Open - CJ Vietnam Open 2025, part of the World Taekwondo G1 system, taking place from June 26 to 29 at Go Vap Stadium. This is the first time Vietnam has organized an international G1 tournament - a big step forward in the journey of integration and upgrading the country's Taekwondo.
At the press conference, VTF and the sponsor from Korea officially signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation, opening a period of strong professionalization in the organization and development of this martial art. This unit has accompanied Vietnam Taekwondo since 2012, contributing to many outstanding achievements such as the Silver Medal at the 2017 World Championship, 4th place at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and 5 Gold Medals at the 31st SEA Games.
From 2025, the Korean sponsor will continue to support the organization of Vietnam Open G1, expand international competition opportunities for athletes and develop young forces through the national youth tournament system. This is expected to be a big boost for Vietnamese Taekwondo on the journey to conquer new heights.
Sharing at the event, a member of the organizing committee said that this year's tournament has attractive bonuses, whereby not only athletes but also coaches will be rewarded if they achieve high results. This is completely different from previous tournaments.
Mr. Truong Ngoc De, Chairman of VTF affirmed: "This event not only demonstrates the strong vitality of young Vietnamese Taekwondo but also symbolizes the spirit of international integration, connecting martial arts and culture between Vietnam and Korea through sports ".
