Specifically, Google has sent an email to customers in Vietnam about important changes to the terms affecting Google Ads and its other products coming soon. The email said that from April 1, 2025, Google Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd., headquartered in Singapore, will transfer the contractual rights and obligations of its advertising customer partners in Vietnam to Google Vietnam Company Limited (English name: Google Vietnam Company Limited - abbreviated name: Google Vietnam) headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, from March 1, 2025, partners who become customers of any products listed in the Vietnam section, Google Vietnam Company Limited will be the official responsible partner, instead of Google Singapore as before. This means that Google Vietnam will also directly manage activities related to invoices in Vietnam, accordingly, when paying for services, customers will receive invoices in Vietnamese currency (VND) and there will be a 10% VAT tax according to Vietnamese law. Google also requires its customer partners to provide tax codes, names and addresses to Google in Vietnam, matching the information registered with the tax authority, to receive valid invoices and no changes will be made once the invoices have been issued. Google also informed that customer partners will receive a copy of the updated terms of service for review from January 1, 2025 onwards and this transfer or change will not cause any disruption to the service. Responding to VietNamNet about Google opening an office in Vietnam, a Google media representative said that the company currently has a team of on-site staff to better serve advertising customers in Vietnam and support the national digital transformation process. According to PV's investigation, Google Vietnam Company Limited was established on May 31, 2023, is operating, managed by the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department and last updated its tax code on December 3, 2024. It should also be noted that this is an office focused on business and marketing, mainly supporting domestic corporate customers, while Google Asia Pacific 's headquarters is still located in Singapore. A representative of a company specializing in providing Google advertising services in Vietnam said that with the operation of Vietnam Company Limited and the official issuance of invoices in Vietnamese, including 10% VAT, it will bring many advantages to businesses running domestic advertising, because at that time, accounting or auditing will be simpler instead of complicated as before. In addition, all information will be transparent when using cross-border services, as well as VAT deduction... The State will also collect taxes clearly and the revenue from taxes will increase significantly compared to before.
