Components of the Truong Son missile complex

The Truong Son missile complex includes the VTRV-01 missile loading vehicle, the VCPV-01 command and control vehicle, the VLV-01 launcher vehicle, the VTAR-1 target warning and indication radar vehicle, the VTIV-01 technical inspection vehicle, and the Song Hong anti-ship cruise missile.

In particular, the VLV-01 launcher and the VTRV-01 transport-loader are both built on the chassis of the Kamaz-6560 8x8 (8-wheel drive) vehicle. Each vehicle can carry up to 4 missiles.

The VTIV-01 technical inspection vehicle is mounted on a Kamaz-5350 6x6 truck chassis (6 driving wheels), and is designed to assess the readiness and technical condition of missiles.

The system is capable of checking the missile status right in the launch tube, helping to ensure the missile is in the highest state of combat readiness.

Target tracking and locking is performed by the VTAR-1 radar vehicle, mounted on the KamAZ-6560 8×8 chassis. The system provides real-time information about surface targets, including bearing, range, speed and direction of movement. The VTAR-1 radar system is capable of operating in an environment with competition and signal interference.

Finally, there is the VCPV-01 command vehicle, mounted on the Kamaz-5350 truck chassis. This vehicle contains modern equipment for seamless communication and coordination between the components of the missile complex.

By design, a complete missile battery will include four launchers and four reloaders, allowing the complex to carry 32 missiles to attack targets.

Components of the Truong Son missile complex are mounted on a truck chassis, ensuring high mobility and flexibility in operation, with the ability to deploy in combat just 10 minutes after arriving at the defense location.

Vehicles carrying equipment of the Truong Son missile complex are equipped with automatic tire inflation technology to help the vehicle move even when some tires are damaged.

The Truong Son missile complex uses anti-ship cruise missiles called Song Hong VSM-01A (VSM stands for Vietnamese Cruise Missile) with subsonic flight speed and a range of up to 80km.

The missile is equipped with an advanced guidance system, has high anti-jamming capability, helping to increase accuracy when aiming at the target.
