Promoting the completion of the national digital platform for tourism administration and business
The specific objectives of the Program to promote digital transformation of smart tourism in the tourism sector set out by 2025 (Program) are to develop and quickly complete digital platforms to support state management; digital platforms to serve tourists (multilingual, multi-utility) easily accessible via websites and mobile applications; develop digital data systems and tourism industry databases as the foundation for building a smart tourism model, ensuring connection with the utilities of Project 06, promoting the exploitation of added value from data.
At the same time, focus on administrative reform, enhance the handling of administrative procedures in the tourism sector through the Ministry's online public service portal; 100% of ministerial-level work files related to the tourism sector are processed in the digital environment (except for files within the scope of state secrets).
Promote the completion of the national digital platform for tourism administration and business to facilitate the application of online tourism business models. Develop a set of criteria to identify and measure digital transformation in the tourism sector, and organize periodic assessments nationwide.
100% of administrative procedures in the tourism sector are eligible for full-process online public services.
The program also aims to continue researching and applying science and technology to develop a smart tourism ecosystem and digital transformation by 2030; ensuring access, application and mastery of advanced technologies in the tourism sector, thereby improving management capacity, development capacity, and creating attractive experiences for tourists.
100% of administrative procedures in the tourism sector are eligible for full-process online public services; 100% of officials, civil servants and public employees in the tourism sector regularly use virtual assistants or smart digital tools at work to improve work efficiency.
The rate of tourism establishments using digital platforms for tourism management and business reaches at least 70%. Expanding the implementation of smart tourism models in key tourist areas and localities with tourism development potential across the country, linking and promoting equitable and sustainable socio-economic development among regions.
Strive to effectively exploit the economic values arising from the application and development of smart tourism in Vietnam's tourism industry, making an increasingly greater contribution to the digital economy; contributing to developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector in accordance with the policies of the Party and the State.
Promoting the development of digital platforms and applications in tourism
To achieve the above goals, the Program will promote the development of digital platforms and applications in tourism. In particular, building an ecosystem of smart tourism applications.
Develop and upgrade shared, core digital platforms of the tourism industry such as: Multilingual tourism information portal, tourism industry database system, statistical reporting system from central to local levels, tourism application "Vietnam Tourism - Vietnam Travel".
Develop multilingual, multi-utility applications for tourists (searching and sharing information, booking rooms, booking tickets, virtual guides, digital maps...), and effective management applications for businesses (hotel and tour management, tourist data analysis).
Promote the completion of the national digital platform for tourism management and business, announce and promote practical applications. Applications supporting tourist areas and tourist attractions: "Online - interconnected - multimodal" electronic ticket system, multimedia guide system, smart travel card...
Promote smart tourism products and applications
In addition, the Program also promotes the development of a digital tourism data system, updates information and data in the tourism database system (tour guides, travel businesses; promotes the development of databases on tourist accommodation establishments, other tourism service businesses, tourist areas and destinations, tourism statistics) based on the application of new technology to serve state management of tourism, contributing to tourism promotion.
Promote smart tourism products and applications; convey information about the role, function and core value of each digital product in the tourism ecosystem, helping relevant entities clearly understand the benefits.
At the same time, build a multi-channel communication strategy, develop attractive content, form a digital tourism community to increase the level of interaction with users, contribute to clearly defining the characteristics of each platform, create conditions for users to easily choose and use for the right purpose; emphasize the connectivity and mutual support between products, which is the basis for creating a seamless and effective digital experience cycle.
