Phu Tho: Continue to pay attention to facilities and human resources for schools after merger

On July 23, the working delegation of the Department of Education and Training of Phu Tho led by Mr. Phung Quoc Lap - Deputy Director of the Department worked with the People's Committee of Thong Nhat Ward and Muong Dong Commune.

The content of the work on education and training aims to grasp the education and training situation after the merger of administrative units, listen to recommendations from the grassroots, and propose solutions to remove difficulties before the 2025-2026 school year.

Thong Nhat Ward currently has 9 schools in the area, with a total of 132 classes, 3,440 students and over 300 cadres, teachers and staff.

Of which, the rate of teachers meeting and exceeding standards is nearly 97%.

Enrollment for the new school year met the set requirements, with 100% of students entering grade 1 and more than 97% of students completing grade 6 enrollment.

However, the locality faces many difficulties such as: Lack of teachers, especially in IT and foreign languages; teaching equipment according to the new program is not yet available.

In addition, the facilities of some schools are degraded; the rearrangement of teachers at the schools after the merger is still inadequate, especially in the Nua hamlet area (area 135) far from the center.

In Muong Dong commune, newly established on the basis of merging four communes: Dong Bac, Hop Tien, Tu Son and Vinh Tien, education and training work is being systematically implemented.

The commune currently has 11 schools, with nearly 5,200 students and nearly 400 staff and teachers. The rate of teachers meeting and exceeding qualifications is 100%.

Schools in the area are actively applying information technology in teaching and school management.

However, the locality still lacks teachers, lacks laboratory equipment, the library is poor in books, lacks funds for maintenance of facilities...

Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Phu Tho, Phung Quoc Lap, commended and highly appreciated the efforts of localities and schools achieved in recent times.

Mr. Lap requested localities and units to closely follow the new system of documents and regulations to effectively implement state management of education and training in the area. Staff and teachers should improve their capacity and sense of responsibility. The immediate focus is on preparing for the new school year 2025-2026.

Regarding the proposals and recommendations of localities and schools, the Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Phu Tho said that he would accept and advise on organizing training courses to improve the quality of professional work; apply IT in teaching and learning. Pay attention to removing difficulties in facilities and human resources for schools... Thereby contributing to improving the quality of education and training in the area, meeting the requirements in the new period.

Previously, the working group of the Department of Education and Training of Phu Tho conducted a field survey at typical schools in the area, including: Ngo Quyen High School, Thong Nhat Primary and Secondary School (Thong Nhat Ward); 19/5 High School, Tu Son Primary and Secondary School (Muong Dong Commune).
