University of Economics - VNU co-organizes the ASEAN Economic Cooperation Forum and Emerging Economies with the Russian Federation in the New Context: Issues and Prospects

The forum was held to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Basic Principles of Friendship between Vietnam and Russia, the 300th anniversary of the founding of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the 50th anniversary of the tradition of the University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi (1974-2024). 2023 marks the 5th anniversary of the Strategic Partnership between Russia and ASEAN. In the process of transformation of the current global economic system, Russia is particularly interested in creating additional incentives to strengthen and diversify trade and economic cooperation with ASEAN. Priorities include ensuring food and energy security, circular economy, environmental issues, economic digitalization, smart city development and strengthening cooperation in science and education . The Forum is expected to provide policy recommendations to Party and State leaders, policy-making agencies on issues to promote and improve the effectiveness of the Vietnam - Russian Federation comprehensive strategic partnership; summarize the experiences of ASEAN countries and emerging economies in cooperation with the Russian Federation, the role of Vietnam as a bridge for cooperation between ASEAN, emerging economies and the Russian Federation, improve the ability to coordinate with ASEAN countries, emerging economies to perfect the mechanism and improve the effectiveness of cooperation between ASEAN and emerging economies with the Russian Federation in the new context and Vietnam - Russian Federation in the new international context.
