HNN.VN - Information from the City Forest Protection Department on the morning of August 21 said that the People's Committee of Long Quang commune has just coordinated with the Nam Dong Regional Forest Protection Department and the Commune Police to receive a pig-tailed macaque (Macaca leonina) voluntarily handed over by Mr. Ho Minh Truyen, residing in Rung Ghenh village (Long Quang commune).

Receiving an individual pig-tailed macaque (Macaca leonina) belonging to group IIB - endangered and rare species

The male pig-tailed macaque weighs about 3kg and belongs to group IIB - endangered and rare species. After receiving, caring for and raising, this macaque was handed over to Bach Ma National Park to be released into the wild according to regulations.

Mr. Ho Minh Truyen's voluntary act of handing over wild animals was recognized by local authorities and relevant agencies. Thereby, it contributed to raising public awareness in nature conservation and biodiversity protection.

The fact that Long Quang Commune People's Committee coordinated to organize the reception of endangered and rare wild animals demonstrates the role of the Commune People's Committee in receiving and handling wild animals according to the new regulations of Circular No. 27/2025/TT-BNNMT of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment on the responsibilities of the Commune People's Committee in receiving wild animals, effective from July 1, 2025.
