From 2021-2023, with funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the Forestry Club of Thua Thien Hue province (now Hue city) has implemented the project "Applying indigenous knowledge to plant forests with indigenous trees to create a green ribbon to both limit fires in the current pure acacia forests, and at the same time contribute to preserving the genetic resources of indigenous trees in Phuc Loc village, Xuan Loc commune, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province".
The project has brought about positive results, not only contributing to the restoration of the forest ecosystem but also helping to raise public awareness of the conservation of native plant genetic resources, contributing to the biodiversity conservation of Bach Ma National Park, the Management Board of the Southern Huong River Protection Forest and the buffer zone.
