Vietnam U20 women's team ends training trip in Japan

VHO - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said that the Vietnam U20 women's team under the leadership of head coach Okiyama Masahiko has completed a 10-day training trip in Japan with many results.

During the training trip in the "land of the rising sun", specifically Hamamatsu city, Shizuoka province, the Vietnam U20 women's team played 5 friendly matches with local teams when the opponents came to universities and high schools.

Vietnam U20 women's team spent 10 useful days in Japan

Vietnam U20 women's team had their first friendly match with Shizuoka Sangyo University of Industry, and the team lost 1-3.

The team then played against Fujieda Jyunshin (Shizuoka Prefecture) U19 team - the champions of the Japanese high school tournament. In the end, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team lost 1-4.

In the third match, the young Vietnamese players won 5-3 against the Iwata Higashi school team.

In the last two matches against Shizuoka University of Industry and Aichi Toho University, losing 0-2 and 1-6 respectively, the U20 Vietnamese women's players really learned many lessons and experiences in competition from their opponents.

Satisfied with the training trip, head coach Okiyama Masahiko said the coaching staff will continue to learn from the players' experiences and make some adjustments after the training trip to Japan.

As planned, today, July 21, the Vietnam U20 women's team will return home.

The team will continue to stay at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center ( Hanoi ) until the tournament day. Coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team will have more than 2 weeks to prepare.

In the 2026 Asian U20 Women's Qualifiers, the Vietnamese girls are the hosts of Group B, meeting opponents: Singapore, Hong Kong (China) and Kyzgyrstan on August 6, August 8 and August 10 respectively.

The matches will take place at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center and will be broadcast live on the social media channels of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

July 16: Vietnam U20 women's team 1-4 Fujieda Jyunshin (U18)
