After taking a flight from Osaka (Japan) back to Hanoi , the Vietnamese women's team quickly moved from Noi Bai airport to Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province and stayed at the Saigon - Phu Tho hotel. Here, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team were warmly welcomed.
Despite the long flight, the team members still appeared comfortable and ready to enter the final training phase lasting about 10 days.
In the 2026 Asian Cup qualifying campaign, the Vietnamese women's team will compete in Group E from June 29 to July 5, meeting opponents Maldives, UAE and Guam at Viet Tri Stadium.
Before returning home, the Vietnamese women's team won two matches and drew one match in friendly matches with clubs and university teams during their training trip in Japan. According to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the players in the team have maintained stable performance, meeting the requirements set by the coaching staff.
In the Vietnamese women's team coming to Phu Tho , in addition to the presence of experienced players who created miracles in participating in the 2023 World Cup such as Huynh Nhu, Tran Thi Kim Thanh, Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, Hoang Thi Loan; Coach Mai Duc Chung also brought along a number of potential young players such as Ngoc Minh Chuyen, Nguyen Thi Kim Yen or Ho Thi Thanh Thao.
Besides that, the notable appearance of Vietnamese-American player Nguyen Hoang Nam Mi promises to create many new features in the playing style of the Vietnamese women's team in this year's qualifying round.
The Vietnamese women's team will play Maldives, UAE and Guam at 7pm on June 29, July 2 and July 5 at Viet Tri Stadium. If they win the top spot in Group E, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will earn a direct ticket to Australia to attend the final round in March next year.
