Proud of 80 years of revolutionary autumn

80 years ago, on September 2, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh solemnly read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. Uncle Ho's voice from the historic Ba Dinh Square resounded like a sacred proclamation to humanity: "Vietnam has the right to freedom and independence and has in fact become a free and independent country." From that moment, the Vietnamese people decided their own destiny with their intelligence and political courage. Celebrating National Day on September 2 further strengthens confidence, strengthens spirit and further clarifies the path of building and developing the country in the new era.

Welcoming the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), localities in the province were filled with a joyful atmosphere, from cities to villages, people decorated with colorful flags and flowers, the bright red national flag fluttering.

As someone who had the honor of listening to Uncle Ho read the Declaration of Independence at the historic Ba Dinh Square, now at the age of 95, the special "asset" that Mr. La Tan Khoi Viet, a pre-uprising cadre living in Group 11 Quyet Thang, To Hieu Ward, has is the memory of those special revolutionary years. He recalls: I was enlightened about the revolution early on and joined the National Salvation Children's Team of the Viet Minh Front. After 2 years of joining the National Salvation Children's Team with the tasks of delivering letters, guarding political cadre conferences... as an active and enthusiastic team member, I was trusted and introduced to Tan Trao (Tuyen Quang) to join the Liberation Army, the second Liberation Army established after the main Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army previously established by General Vo Nguyen Giap. The liberation army team I joined at that time had 30 people. During the day, we went on guard duty, delivered mail, and at night we practiced self-defense to help prepare for the general uprising to seize power in August 1945.

Every year, on the occasion of Independence Day, Mr. Viet enthusiastically tells his children and grandchildren stories about the difficult but heroic years of the nation. Mr. Viet said: I am extremely proud to see that our country today has changed dramatically, is an independent country, has a position in the international arena, and the people's lives are increasingly improved. With faith and hope, the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2, is not only an opportunity to review the glorious past, but also a reminder for today's generation to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors, to preserve the independence that so many people sacrificed to gain.

The country's historical milestones are always a source of pride and valuable lessons about patriotism, solidarity, bravery and resilience of the Vietnamese people. Upholding tradition, the Party Committee, government and people of Son La province are joining hands and unanimously promoting potentials and advantages, strongly mobilizing resources, promoting industrialization and modernization, and achieving great and comprehensive achievements in all fields.
