Center for Women and Development expands connection with Korean partners to enhance support for women of both countries

From October 28 to November 2, 2024, a working delegation from the Center for Women and Development (under the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union) visited and worked with partners in Korea, opening up many opportunities for connection and cooperation in activities to support women and promote economic development of women's businesses in the two countries.

At the invitation of Mr. Kim Youngjun, CEO of Avan Beauty Group, from October 28 to November 2, 2024, the Center for Women and Development organized a working delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Lai, Deputy Director of the Center, to visit and work in Seoul and Gwangju, Korea.

Attending the delegation were Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai Huong, Vice President - Head of Trade Promotion Department; Ms. To Thi Phuong Thao, Vice President; Ms. Le Thi Binh, Vice President - Head of Community Charity Department of Hanoi City Association of Women Entrepreneurs, and representatives of 17 female business owners of Hanoi City Association of Women Entrepreneurs (HNEW) and Thai Nguyen.

During the working trip, on October 29, 2024, the delegation attended the event "Vietnam - Korea Businesswomen Exchange" held in Gwangju City, hosted and sponsored by AVAN Beauty. Attending the event were 25 Vietnamese - Korean enterprises in fields such as food production and processing, garment, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, household appliances, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Lai, Deputy Director of the Center for Women and Development, affirmed: "This Women Entrepreneurs Exchange event contributes significantly to promoting coordination between organizations, businesses, and government agencies in supporting women, especially disadvantaged women through business development."

At the event, businesses conducted a signing ceremony for cooperation, promoting products and expanding markets for businesses of the two countries.

At the event, Dai Linh Import-Export Trading Joint Stock Company and Avan Beauty Group, Aroma Company and Tien Hieu Company Limited, held a signing ceremony to establish cooperative relationships, promote product development and expand the market through strategic cooperation between the two parties.

On the same afternoon, the delegation met with Mr. Shim Cheol Eui, Vice Chairman of the Gwangju City People's Council, to share about activities to support disadvantaged women and connect to support Vietnamese women in Gwangju. At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Lai highly appreciated the cooperative efforts that the Gwangju City leaders are implementing to promote relations with Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Lai proposed that in the coming time, Gwangju city will continue to provide practical and timely support for Vietnamese brides living in Korea, especially focusing on improving life skills and ensuring social security for multicultural families.

Also during the working trip, on November 1, 2024, the delegation had a working session at the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea, with the participation of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dung - First Commercial Counselor - and a number of Embassy officials; the Women's Union and Vietnamese Enterprises in Korea to promote coordination in supporting women.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Lai shared about the Center's fields of operation, the desire to find potential partners in the tourism and hotel sectors, as well as committed to providing incentives for Korean delegations when visiting, traveling in Vietnam and staying at the Center.

Previously, in 2019, on the occasion of the 89th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Women's Union, Vietnamese Women's Day October 20 and welcoming Vietnamese Entrepreneurs' Day October 13, the Center for Women and Development, the Vietnam Women's Union in collaboration with the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea, AVAN Beauty organized the event "Entrepreneurs' Day - Ao Dai Festival" in Korea, within the framework of the study trip, researching models of promoting gender equality and supporting women in Korea of the Vietnam Women's Union delegation, from October 19 to 24.
