Exhibition “Beyond Limits. Italian Sport. Portrait of a Changing Country” is taking place in Hanoi

The exhibition “Beyond Limits. Italian Sport. Portrait of a Changing Country” was conceptualized by the M9 Museum of Venice with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and took place from September 27 to October 8 in Hanoi.

This afternoon (September 27), the exhibition “Beyond Limits. Italian Sports . Portrait of a Changing Country” opened in Hanoi. The exhibition offers a creative artistic journey about the history, present and future of Italian sports, not only recounting the great achievements of Italian athletes in various sports, but also the changes of Italy over the past century through sports. With a selection of 24 photos, the exhibition “Beyond Limits” also hopes to introduce to the Vietnamese public the most iconic locations and athletes of Italian sports.

According to Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco Della Seta, throughout history, sport has played a powerful role in bridging nations, overcoming divisions and encouraging dialogue. Diplomacy and sport share a common goal: building understanding and cooperation between cultures. Vietnam itself is a testament to the transformative power of sport. With the rapid development of its sports industry, Vietnam has seen a significant increase in international sporting achievements in recent years. From impressive performances at the SEA Games to gold medals at the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, Vietnamese athletes have demonstrated their determination and excellence. Sport has become an integral part of Vietnamese society, with more and more people participating in both recreational and competitive activities. Italy, like Vietnam, considers sport to be central to national identity.

The exhibition is free and will last until October 8 at Casa Italia (18 Le Phung Hieu, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi ).

Ambassador Marco Della Seta said: "Our country's sporting tradition spans centuries and today the Italian sports industry accounts for 1.3% of the national GDP and comprises more than 750 companies, generating €12.2 billion in revenue and €9.2 billion in exports worldwide. Whether it is football, cycling or motorsport, Italian athletes have always made their mark on the international stage. At the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Italy once again shined, with memorable performances in many disciplines and a total of 40 medals, including 12 gold medals. It is these values of pushing boundaries, striving for greatness and overcoming limits that form the core message of the exhibition we are opening today."
