The professional training program for Sport Climbing instructors consists of 3 parts: theory, practice and test.

In which, the theoretical part includes 7 topics: Viewpoints, guidelines of the Party, policies, laws of the State on physical education and sports; Introduction to Sport climbing, the process of formation and development; Basic techniques, factors affecting Sport climbing; Instructions on organizing training and competitions in Sport climbing; Instructions on developing plans and organizing competitions in Sport climbing; Basic knowledge to ensure safety, hygiene, medical care, nutrition for participants in Sport climbing training; Rescue methods in Sport climbing.
The practical part includes 4 topics: Basic techniques of Sport Climbing; Instructions on organizing training and participating in Sport Climbing competitions; Organizing and competing in Sport Climbing; Rescue methods and first aid in training and competing in Sport Climbing.
Based on the specific program content of each training course, the host unit will develop a framework for testing, assessment and evaluation to suit the scale of the training program and ensure compliance with the requirements of this program framework with the following assessment contents: Training participants must attend at least 80% of the class time, have a final test and satisfactory assessment to be granted a certificate. The theoretical test has a maximum score of 50 points (passing score is 25 points) and the practical test has a maximum score of 50 points (passing score is 25 points).
The agency or unit organizing the training shall issue a certificate to the qualified examinee. The certificate form is in accordance with Circular No. 07/2021/TT-BVHTTDL dated September 8, 2021 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism regulating sports training for sports instructors.
The decision requires the training program to ensure provision and updating of necessary basic knowledge and skills.
Regarding basic knowledge, it is necessary to provide some basic knowledge in physical education, clearly understand the history of development, nature, characteristics, role of Sport Climbing and pedagogical principles in teaching; knowledge about safety in training and first aid for injuries.
Regarding skills, it is necessary to instruct on basic technical training systems, some physical exercises, training hygiene and initial first aid for injuries in sport climbing training.
The program content structure ensures scientific balance between theory and practice and is open for easy updating and supplementation to suit practical requirements.
