Report No. 5957/TTr UBND dated May 19, 2025 of Hue City People's Committee requests appraisal and adjustment of the Project: Conservation and restoration of Nam Giao Altar relic (phase 1), Truong An ward, Thuan Hoa district. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has assigned units to research and provide appraisal opinions.

Specifically, the agreement on Adjusting the Project for Preservation and Restoration of the Nam Giao Altar (Phase 1) contains the following contents: Adjusting the solution for restoring the outer wall of the Trai Cung (demolition, restoration to original state); adjusting the solution for restoring the wall section of the A4-A4' axis similar to the solution for restoring the completed western wall section; adding a section of the western wall to the position adjacent to the northern wall; reducing and not implementing the restoration of the La Thanh and the Eastern gate according to the Project for Preservation and Restoration of the Nam Giao Altar, which has been appraised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Phase 1 in Official Dispatch No. 4505/BVHTTDL-DSVH dated October 4, 2018, leaving it to be implemented according to the Project (remaining part) which has been appraised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Official Dispatch No. 4965/BVHTTDL-DSVH dated November 15, 2023.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism noted that for the outer wall of Trai Cung, priority should be given to partial demolition, reinforcement and strengthening for on-site preservation. The severely degraded wall (near the front gate) must be completely demolished and restored according to the original architectural structure and maximum reuse of old materials.
The dossier needs to supplement the legal basis including Decree No. 166/2018/ND-CP dated December 25, 2018 of the Government stipulating the authority, order, procedures for establishing, appraising, and approving plans and projects for preserving, renovating, and restoring historical-cultural relics and scenic spots.
For the addition of the interior of the main palace (Throne, Throne platform), when implementing, it is necessary to refer to previous versions implemented at some other relic sites to promote value.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also requested the People's Committee of Hue City to consider carefully, on the basis of consulting and receiving consensus from relevant experts and scientists before deciding to implement.
