BTO-On November 19, the 1st Phan Thiet Open Chess Tournament - 2023 took place in Phan Thiet City.

First prize awarded to player Huynh Viet Chien

The tournament had 32 players from localities such as La Gi, Phan Thiet, Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Nam. According to the Organizing Committee, the open chess tournament aims to: "Create connections, exchanges, create a healthy playground and opportunities for players who are passionate about chess to learn and compete" .

The players played the first game according to the Swiss system.

The blind chess tournament is played in the Swiss system of 7 games, with a playing time of 15 minutes for each game. Scoring for a game: 1 point for a win, 0.5 point for a draw, 0 point for a loss . Total points after 7 games , if tied , will be calculated according to the progressive coefficient. The 4 players with the highest scores after 7 games will compete in the semi-finals, the two winners will compete in the final, the losers will compete for 3rd place. Positions 5-8 will receive consolation prizes.

Awarding of encouragement prizes and souvenir flags

After a day of competition, the Organizing Committee held a closing ceremony and awarded prizes at Phan Thiet Ky Dao Coffee Shop (No. 13 Cu Chinh Lan, Phu Tai Ward, Phan Thiet City ) . The first blind chess tournament champion was Huynh Viet Chien, the second place was Tran Ngoc Anh, and the third place was Tran Xuan Nghia, both from Phan Thiet City.
