Identifying vocational training as the “key” for women to open the door to employment, earn income, ensure their lives, have opportunities to develop themselves and escape poverty. Every year, the Provincial Women’s Union coordinates with all levels of the union to survey the vocational training needs of female workers in the locality; proactively develop plans and open vocational training classes suitable for each group.

Women's unions at all levels also coordinate with other levels and sectors to promote vocational training and job introduction for female workers through training activities to improve management and operation capacity of cooperatives and cooperative groups for women; build models of association groups, production and business groups, cooperative groups, etc.

Vocational training activities are always aimed at the grassroots level, targeting many different groups of women such as rural female workers, female workers from poor households, women with disabilities, etc. In particular, many free vocational training classes are organized, creating conditions for women in difficult circumstances to access vocational skills, thereby choosing a career that suits them and their family's conditions.

In 2024 alone, women's unions at all levels in the province organized 100 traditional and new vocational training classes on farming techniques, animal husbandry, industrial sewing, cooking, flower arrangement, etc. for 2,238 women members.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung, a member of the Women's Union of Quarter 2, Ward 2, Dong Ha City, shared: "I am in poor health and have a young child, so I don't have many opportunities to choose and find a job. Having a passion for cooking and cuisine, I plan to open an online food business to earn more income and develop my family's economy , but I don't know where to start.

Recently, I registered to attend a culinary training course organized by the Ward Women's Union in collaboration with the Dong Ha City Continuing Education and Vocational Training Center. After completing the course, with useful knowledge and improved skills thanks to the lessons and "hands-on" practice sessions, I have built an online business model, gradually operating stably, and becoming known to many customers.

In addition to coordinating with relevant units and localities to organize vocational training courses for women members, depending on the needs, capacity and wishes of each member, women's associations at all levels will have appropriate support. For members who have land for production but lack investment capital, the association will support loans from the Social Policy Bank so that members have more conditions to develop their economic models.

For members who are poor women without stable jobs, the association will connect with businesses that need to recruit workers to introduce, create jobs or give away trees, seedlings, livelihood models..., thereby becoming a reliable support for female members to strive to overcome difficulties, confidently develop the family economy. In the first 5 months of 2025, the Women's Union at all levels mobilized support for trees and seedlings for female members in difficult circumstances with a total value of nearly 355 million VND.

Implementing the project "Supporting women to start a business, period 2017-2025" according to Decision No. 939/QDTTg, dated June 30, 2017 of the Prime Minister, the Women's Union at all levels of Quang Tri province has actively and proactively advised local Party committees and authorities to organize implementation, creating conditions for women to start a business, develop business, contributing to economic stability, improving income and quality of life.

Accordingly, from the beginning of 2025 to present, the Provincial Women's Union has organized a series of activities and training courses on customer development skills, online sales, building startup ideas and business planning for 210 female officials and members; organized 6 training courses on building startup ideas and business planning, customer development skills, online sales for 322 female members in the districts of Hai Lang, Trieu Phong, Gio Linh, Vinh Linh and Quang Tri town.

At the same time, 5 training courses on improving management and operational capacity were organized for 250 female executives and workers in cooperatives and cooperatives; and a festival was organized to display and introduce products to female members...

Ms. Nong Thi Hanh, Director of Ta Lu Coffee Company Limited (Huong Hoa District) said: "My startup journey, in addition to my personal efforts, also has great support from women's unions at all levels". In 2023, responding to the contest "Proposing ideas and startup projects" with the theme "Women starting a business - promoting indigenous resources" launched and organized by the Women's Union at all levels, Ms. Hanh registered to participate with the startup idea "Organizing farmers to produce coffee according to sustainability" and won second prize at the provincial level.

In 2024, she continued to participate in the national "Women's Creative Startup and Green Transformation" contest in 2024 organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union with the project "Developing Huong Hoa Organic Coffee" and won the second prize nationwide.

“I hope that the Women's Union at all levels will continue to organize competitions to create opportunities for members and women to start businesses, to act as a bridge to support business households and female business owners to develop; and to encourage women to boldly affirm their role and position in economic development and other areas of social life,” said Ms. Hanh.

It is the companionship and practical support of the Women's Union at all levels that has provided opportunities and "fishing rods" to help members, women of all backgrounds, ages, and occupations, especially women in difficult circumstances, ethnic minorities, and women with disabilities, to have the conditions to develop economically. Thereby, contributing to promoting gender equality and enhancing the role and position of women in society.
