The People’s Committee of Bac Giang province has just approved the use of the place name “Tan Yen” to register the collective trademark “Tan Yen guava bud tea” and confirmed the geographical area corresponding to this trademark. This is an important step to identify the brand, protect production rights and expand the consumption market for the typical guava bud tea product of Tan Yen district.

Specifically, Quyen Phong Agricultural Cooperative (Cao Thuong town, Tan Yen district) is allowed to use the place name “Tan Yen” in the collective trademark “Tan Yen guava bud tea”. The Provincial People’s Committee also confirmed the geographical area associated with this trademark on the administrative map, ensuring clarity about the origin and scope of product protection.

Along with that, local authorities require cooperatives to develop full regulations for managing and using collective trademarks in accordance with legal regulations. Strict control of the right to use place names will help protect product brands, limit counterfeiting and imitation that affect the reputation of the locality and producers.

To create quality guava bud tea products, Quyen Phong Agricultural Cooperative purchases young branches about 20cm - 30cm long from guava growing areas that meet VietGAP standards, with clear growing area codes. Immediately after harvesting, raw materials including guava buds and fresh leaves are carefully classified, chopped, then put into a continuous drying system within 2 days.

At the end of the drying process, the raw materials continue to be crushed and then transferred to the packaging and finishing stage. Each stage is carried out meticulously, with the support of modern machinery and technology to ensure productivity and preserve the natural flavor of the product.

Currently, Quyen Phong Cooperative has cooperated with 98 households in Cao Thuong town to deploy a production and business chain of guava tea buds on an area of about 80 hectares. Building a collective brand not only contributes to creating an image for Tan Yen guava tea buds in the market, but also serves as a foundation for trade promotion and expanding domestic and foreign distribution channels.

It is known that with the guava growing model according to VietGAP standards, with full growing area codes, after deducting costs, people can earn a profit of 20 - 35 million VND per sao. Not only valuable from the fruit, the pruned guava branches can also be sold for about 5,000 VND/kg, contributing to increasing income. On average, people can collect about 1 - 1.5 quintals of branches per sao per year.

Currently, the Tan Yen guava tea product produced by Quyen Phong Agricultural Cooperative is sold on the market at a price of 50,000 VND/50g box. Thanks to the stable output, the cooperative members and associated farming households all have a steady income, contributing to improving their lives and increasing economic efficiency from guava trees.

Supporting the association "Building a production and business model for Tan Yen guava products and Tan Yen guava bud tea according to the value chain in Cao Thuong town, Tan Yen district" and allowing the use of the place name "Tan Yen" to register the collective trademark "Tan Yen guava bud tea" contributes to helping Quyen Phong Agricultural Cooperative build its brand in the market.

In the coming time, Quyen Phong Agricultural Cooperative will continue to expand its consumption market, improve its processing capacity and develop Tan Yen guava tea products. At the same time, the unit also focuses on training human resources, transferring farming techniques, contributing to increasing people's income and promoting collective economic development in the area.

Tan Yen guava tea is not simply an agricultural product, but also the crystallization of the creativity, enthusiasm and aspirations of farmers in Tan Yen district. Registering a collective trademark for “Tan Yen guava tea” is part of the strategy to enhance the value of local agricultural products, promoting the rural economy in a sustainable direction. This is also an opportunity for cooperatives and cooperative groups in Bac Giang province to be more proactive in building brands, protecting collective interests and effectively exploiting the potential of local agricultural products.
