Ho Chi Minh City will organize a series of large-scale political, cultural and artistic activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

On August 16, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee announced that the city will organize many major programs and activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

From August 19 to September 5, 2025, the City will organize an exhibition of photos, documents and artifacts at: Nguyen Hue Walking Street (Ngo Duc Ke - Ton Duc Thang section), Dong Khoi Street (HCMC) and No. 1 Ba Cu Street (Vung Tau Ward).

The exhibition opening ceremony will take place at 7:30 a.m. on August 19 at two locations: Nguyen Hue - Hai Trieu intersection (HCMC) and No. 1 Ba Cu Street (Vung Tau Ward).

On August 29, the City leaders held a ceremony to pay tribute and offer incense to the heroic martyrs at many locations: City Martyrs Cemetery (Long Binh Ward), City Cemetery (Linh Xuan Ward), Ben Duoc Martyrs Memorial Temple and Cu Chi District Martyrs Cemetery (An Nhon Tay Commune), People's Armed Forces Hero Nguyen Thi Ranh Memorial House (Tan An Hoi Commune), Nga Ba Giong Relic (Ba Diem Commune), Binh Duong Martyrs Cemetery (Thuan Giao Ward) and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Martyrs Cemetery.

On the same day, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the delegations will offer incense and flowers to President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang at the Ho Chi Minh Museum (HCMC Branch), Ton Duc Thang Museum and President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park on Nguyen Hue walking street.

The highlight of the celebration is a special art program and live television broadcast on the evening of September 2, 2025 with the theme "Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and Saigon Uprising Day".

The program takes place at 7:30 p.m. at three locations: Nguyen Hue Walking Street (HCMC), New City Central Park ( Binh Duong Ward) and Thuy Van Square (Vung Tau Ward).

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City also organizes and coordinates many other commemorative activities. The city participates in the exhibition of socio-economic achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day in Hanoi from August 28 to September 5, 2025.

Ho Chi Minh City will organize high-altitude and low-altitude artistic fireworks displays to serve the people from 9:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. on September 2, 2025; and implement artistic lighting decorations on central streets.

The city also coordinated with Vietnam Television to conduct a live television broadcast at 8:00 p.m. on August 22, 2025 at the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City Branch.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City will hold a reception for diplomatic missions and international organizations in Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
