On the basis of the good relationship between the two countries, the city and Japanese localities such as Aichi, Hyogo, Osaka... have established cooperative and twinning relationships, opening up investment opportunities in many fields.

On August 9, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc received Ms. Obuchi Yoko - President of the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Union and the delegation visiting and working in the city. The Chairman of the City People's Committee congratulated Ms. Obuchi Yoko on being elected as President of the Friendship Parliamentarians' Union in February 2025; at the same time, he highly appreciated the role of the Union and Ms. Obuchi Yoko in promoting the Vietnam - Japan friendship, including the cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Japanese localities.

Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized that the relationship between Vietnam and Japan in general, and Ho Chi Minh City and Japan in particular, is increasingly developing strongly and effectively in many fields, becoming a model of bilateral cooperation. He believes that with the bridging role of the Alliance and the close affection of parliamentarians, the relationship between the city and Japanese localities and enterprises will continue to develop more substantially and effectively.

She also appreciated cultural exchange activities such as the Vietnam - Japan Festival in Ho Chi Minh City and the Vietnam Festival in Japan held annually, which have contributed to promoting culture, cuisine and tourism, while strengthening friendship between the two peoples.

Currently, many Japanese enterprises are cooperating in business in Vietnam. Ms. Obuchi Yoko hopes that Ho Chi Minh City will continue to support the business community and Japanese people living and doing business in the city, thereby contributing to promoting the increasingly good development of cooperative relations.
