Vietnam U16 women enter Southeast Asian tournament semi-finals

VHO - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said that the Vietnam U16 women's team has won the right to enter the semi-finals as the top team of the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 Women's Football Tournament after defeating Myanmar U16 women's team.

After a 5-0 victory over Cambodia U16 women in the opening match, Vietnam U16 women are confident of aiming for a similar result against Myanmar U16 women.

After a goalless first half, the turning point of the match came in the 69th minute. Le Thi Hong Thai kicked accurately, opening the score 1-0 from the 11m mark.

In the 85th minute, facing the overwhelming attacking momentum of the Vietnamese U16 women's players, the Myanmar U16 women's defenders continued to struggle and were forced to commit fouls in the penalty area.

This is the third time in the match that Vietnam U16 women's team was awarded a penalty.

Ngoc Anh continued to be assigned the task and this player scored the first goal in the tournament, raising the score to 2-0 for the Vietnam U16 women's team.

Evaluating the performance of his players, Coach Okiyama said: “The result was exactly as we predicted. Before the match, we predicted it would be a difficult match.

Defeating U16 Myanmar with a score of 2-0, the U16 women's team of Vietnam closed the group stage with 6 points after 2 matches, being the first team of Group B to qualify for the semi-finals, taking place on August 27.
