On the afternoon of August 27 in Thailand, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team entered the final match of Group G against the Kenyan women's team.
After two matches, the Vietnamese and Kenyan women's teams both lost 1-3 to Poland and 0-3 to Germany, respectively, thereby stopping early in the group stage.
Although the match is only for honor, both the Vietnamese and Kenyan women's teams are determined to win before saying goodbye to the tournament.
The Vietnamese women's team (ranked 23rd in the world ) is ranked higher than Kenya (ranked 25th in the world) and won against their opponents in a friendly match between the two teams at Dong Anh Stadium (Hanoi) before leaving for Thailand to attend the World Championship.
But in this rematch, the Vietnamese girls could not do the same.
In set 1, the Vietnamese women's team had a bad start when they let their opponent lead 8-4.
The Vietnamese girls tried hard to equalize the score at 11-11, played an open game with their opponents in the following time but still lost 23-25.
Set 2 happened similarly, the Vietnamese women's team was behind 2-6, despite trying very hard, they still lost 22-25.
In set 3, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's students could only compete with their opponents in the early stages, before losing 18-25.
Losing 0-3 (23-25, 22-25, 18-25) to Kenya, the Vietnamese women's team ended their journey at the 2025 World Championship with a record of all losses.
