Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that the issue of sending Finnish troops to Ukraine for training purposes is not currently being discussed.

In an interview with STT news agency, President Stubb emphasized: "Sometimes big and small countries can differ in the way they talk."
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said that Europe has not yet ruled out the possibility of deploying troops to Ukraine.
Despite suggestions from some European leaders that they would consider sending military support to Ukraine, a senior Finnish official said the idea “has not aroused much enthusiasm” in the Nordic country.
* Previously, on May 24, President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Kharkov in northeastern Ukraine as the city faced increasingly fierce airstrikes from Russia.
On the social network X , Mr. Zelensky wrote: “Today, I am in Kharkov... I received updates on defense operations, especially in the Vovchansk region, as well as on the restoration of damaged energy infrastructure.”
The Ukrainian leader met senior military commanders in the city and visited the site of a major printing house a day after the facility was destroyed in a Russian missile strike that killed at least seven people.
On May 10, the Russian army launched a cross-border offensive, aiming towards the neighboring town of Vovchansk on one side and putting pressure on the village of Lyptsi on the other.
Thus, for the second time in eight days, President Zelensky visited the city of Kharkov to inspect the region's defense efforts against Russia's new offensive.
The visit came on the same day that the Ukrainian military announced it had "stopped the Russian offensive and is starting a counterattack".
The Russian Defense Ministry later said that the Northern Forces had been steadily advancing deep into the enemy's defense lines in Kharkov for the past week, attacking the personnel and destroying the equipment of five regular brigades and four territorial defense brigades of Ukraine. "23 Ukrainian counterattacks were repelled in the villages of Glubokoe, Tikhoe, Liptsy and the city of Vovchansk," the agency said.
* On the same day, May 24, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that Ukraine had used weapons provided by the US to attack targets outside the conflict zone and aimed at civilian infrastructure .
Speaking to reporters, the Russian Foreign Minister stressed: “American weapons have been used to attack many targets outside the conflict zone (in Ukraine). Therefore, in my opinion, everything – where the Americans are trying to make some soothing statements to their own public opinion or to NATO member states or to show that the decision has not been made yet – is a trick.”
Mr. Lavrov said the accusation stemmed from the fact that US weapons were used to attack targets on Russian territory, mainly civilian infrastructure.
* Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on May 24 that it was unlikely that Russia would attack a NATO member state , while discussions about the "Russian threat" were nothing more than a rehearsal for war.
Prime Minister Orban said the possibility of any country, not just Russia, attacking a NATO country is “extremely small”. NATO is a defensive alliance and will not accept military actions that violate the sovereignty of any member state. Therefore, discussions about the “Russian threat” are more akin to Western and European exercises to prepare for war.
Prime Minister Orban also affirmed that Budapest is trying to avoid participating in NATO activities outside the alliance's territory.
The Hungarian leader also said that Western politicians and media reports clearly indicate that Europe is preparing for a war with Russia. According to him, before the two world wars, the press spent a lot of time preparing for the action of entering the war. What is happening in Brussels and Washington, especially in Brussels, is a form of mental preparation for a possible direct conflict.
