Vietnam welcomes and supports UNESCO's vision and Medium-Term Strategy for the period 2022-2029, UNESCO's Transformation Strategy and UNESCO's initiatives and priority cooperation programmes, especially in new areas such as artificial intelligence.
General Secretary To Lam expressed his appreciation for the valuable support and contributions of UNESCO, as well as Ms. Audrey Azoulay herself, in supporting Vietnam over the past time. With 72 titles recognized by UNESCO, located in all provinces and cities of Vietnam, it is a significant resource for sustainable socio -economic development, improving people's livelihoods, preserving and promoting the cultural values and heritage of Vietnam, contributing to human civilization.
Sharing with the Director General of UNESCO, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that Vietnam is entering a new era, realizing the goal of becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045. Vietnam will continue to deeply integrate into world politics, the global economy, and human civilization, constantly striving to contribute to maintaining peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.

The General Secretary affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to multilateral cooperation and the role of UNESCO, commits to promoting its role as an active and responsible member, proactively contributing to UNESCO's efforts as a member of key management mechanisms, and actively and responsibly contributing to UNESCO's mission and common work.
General Secretary To Lam asked UNESCO to continue supporting Vietnam in the process of integration and development, especially in the fields of education, science, culture and communication; providing policy advice, sharing experiences, and supporting resources for socio-economic development; coordinating and supporting the dissemination of humanistic and cultural values in line with the interests of UNESCO and Vietnam, promoting cultural values, heritage, and the strength of the Vietnamese people...
General Secretary To Lam hopes that UNESCO will always be a companion and reliable partner of Vietnam, especially in preserving and promoting the value of heritages and UNESCO titles in Vietnam for sustainable development; requesting UNESCO to continue supporting the implementation of the Dossier to preserve and promote the value of the World Heritage of Thang Long Imperial Citadel - the sacred heritage of the nation; the Dossier of the Complex of Monuments and Landscapes of Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac to soon be recognized as a World Cultural Heritage in July 2025, as well as other dossiers to be considered in 2025 such as: Dong Ho Folk Painting Art to be recognized as an intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection, Ho Chi Minh City in the Global Creative Cities Network, Hanoi in the Global Learning Cities Network, etc.
UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay expressed her joy and gratitude to meet General Secretary To Lam again in Vietnam and highlighted the cooperation with Vietnam over the past 50 years, recognizing Vietnam as one of the most active members of UNESCO and affirming that "the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and UNESCO has never been as good as it is today". Ms. Audrey Azoulay thanked Vietnam for its strong support and commitment, hoping that Vietnam would continue to contribute more to UNESCO's activities in particular as well as to the common work of humanity. The fact that Vietnam is holding positions in key mechanisms of UNESCO has demonstrated the trust of UNESCO and member countries in Vietnam's contributions to the common activities of the organization.

The UNESCO Director-General was impressed by Vietnam's recent socio-economic development achievements and said that Vietnam is a model that many other countries can learn from. Ms. Audrey Azoulay highly appreciated the vision and wise leadership of the Party and State through major strategies and policies that Vietnam has implemented recently in association with institutional reform, promoting education, culture, science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, creating key driving forces for the country's development, typically the policy of exempting tuition fees for all students in public schools from 2025; the development of strategies and action programs on promoting digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence in Vietnam; the policy of promoting the private economy, including creating conditions for the private sector to participate in UNESCO activities in Vietnam.
Ms. Audrey Azoulay emphasized that UNESCO's recognition of Vietnam's titles and heritages, most recently Lang Son Global Geopark and a number of global learning cities and creative cities, has demonstrated the international community's appreciation of Vietnam's national cultural values, and is also very consistent with Vietnam's development trend in the coming time. This also demonstrates respect for Vietnam's efforts and commitments in contributing to enriching the treasure of human civilization and contributing to the common efforts of the international community.
