Honoring 205 outstanding blood donors in Soc Trang province in 2025

STO - On the morning of June 16, at the Provincial Cultural and Conference Center, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of Soc Trang province held a conference to honor outstanding voluntary blood donors in 2025. Attending the conference were comrade Nguyen Van Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of Soc Trang province; leaders of provincial departments, branches and outstanding blood donors of Soc Trang province in 2025.

Attending this honoring conference were 205 typical voluntary blood donors in the province, many of whom donated blood 20 times or more. In addition to participating directly, they are also active and effective propagandists for the blood donation movement in their localities and units. The conference is an activity in response to the 21st anniversary of International Blood Donor Day (June 14, 2004 - June 14, 2025). Thereby, continuing to affirm the attention of Party committees, authorities at all levels, sectors and the whole society to the voluntary blood donation movement and recognizing, praising and expressing gratitude for the kindness and noble deeds of blood donors.

In Soc Trang province alone, since the beginning of the year, the whole province has organized 24 voluntary blood donation campaigns, receiving 4,221 units of blood. At the same time, 19 voluntary blood donation clubs with 490 volunteers have been maintained, including 1 club "People with rare blood type RH(-)" with 11 members and 5 live blood donation clubs with 138 members ready to donate blood when the unit needs blood transfusion.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Khoi acknowledged and commended individuals who actively participated in the province's blood donation movement, especially those honored this time. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the steering committee for voluntary blood donation in the new communes and wards after the merger to urgently review and consolidate the apparatus, ensuring the maintenance of the core force; continue to innovate propaganda work, apply information technology and social networks to widely spread the message "Donating blood to save lives - a noble gesture"; promote the role of mass organizations, religions, and enterprises in maintaining and expanding the movement; promptly commend, reward, and express gratitude to outstanding collectives and individuals to arouse a sense of responsibility, create a widespread influence, and attract more and more participants.

On this occasion, 115 outstanding blood donors received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and 90 volunteers were awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial Red Cross Society. Among them, Mr. Thai Trung Nghia - Chairman of the Vinh Chau Town Red Cross Society (Soc Trang) with 35 blood donations was selected by the Provincial Steering Committee to participate in the activity to honor outstanding national voluntary blood donors in 2025, organized by the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in Hanoi .
