Discussion: “Using electricity economically and effectively: Solutions to ensure electricity supply during hot season”

Vương Thanh TúVương Thanh Tú20/05/2023

In 2023, the global energy crisis is forecast to cause supply shortages in most regions of the world while oil and gas prices increase sharply. This crisis is still unpredictable and is not expected to end this year.

This puts great pressure on Vietnam's energy supply, which is already in short supply due to the rapid economic recovery after the pandemic. The problem of ensuring a stable and safe electricity supply for the whole country faces many challenges.

Meanwhile, in recent days, we have continuously recorded information about hot weather across the country, leading to an increase in electricity demand for households and production and business enterprises.

Since the beginning of the year, the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have closely directed the Electricity sector to focus on implementing solutions to ensure electricity supply, especially calling on people and businesses to increase the use of electricity economically and effectively.

What are these solutions and how effective have they been? Is there any room for further promoting the spirit of energy saving in the whole society? What kind of involvement is needed from state management agencies, localities, businesses and people in the coming time?

The seminar was attended by invited guests who are experts and managers in this field:

Mr. Trinh Quoc Vu - Deputy Director of Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade

Ms. Ly Thi Phuong Trang - Chairwoman of Daikin Vietnam Board of Directors

The program is being broadcast live on the Electronic Industry and Trade Magazine; Fanpage: Proud of Vietnamese Goods from 9:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023.
