According to MacRumors, the upcoming iPhone 17 Air is expected to be equipped with a 2,900mAh battery – a lower capacity than many current smartphones. This move reflects Apple's design direction, when the company prioritizes creating an ultra-thin device, with an impressive size of only 5.5mm at its thinnest point.

Leaked information says that Apple conducted internal tests on the iPhone 17 Air and the results showed that only about 60–70% of users can use the device for a full day without recharging.
This shows that trading off battery capacity for an ultra-thin design can affect the actual user experience, especially for heavy users.
To overcome the battery life limitation, Apple is said to launch a battery case specifically for the iPhone 17 Air. At the same time, iOS 26 - the latest operating system version - will also bring many improvements in energy management, helping to optimize performance and extend the device's usage time during the day.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the iPhone 17 Air will be equipped with Apple's own C1 modem - a component that appeared on the iPhone 16e model and was highly appreciated for its outstanding energy saving ability. The integration of the C1 modem is expected to contribute to improving battery efficiency, partly compensating for the device's low-capacity battery.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the iPhone 17 Air will start at $900. This product is positioned by Apple as a direct successor to the iPhone Plus line, targeting users who love a thin and light design but still retain the large screen experience.
Apple is expected to hold an event to launch the iPhone 17 series on September 9, marking the beginning of a new product cycle. From September 12, the company will officially open pre-orders, giving global users the opportunity to access the device as soon as possible.
The first iPhone 17s are expected to be delivered to customers on September 19. Like previous years, some key markets such as the US, China and Japan will be the first to open for sale.
A report from MacRumors said that Apple will increase the price of the entire iPhone 17 product line by $50. This move is to offset the continuously increasing cost of components, as well as the impact of the new tariff policy between the US and China.
