According to the Management Board of Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Projects of Tien Giang Province, Component Project 2 has a length of about 11.43 km, managed by the People's Committee of Tien Giang Province. Of which, about 3.8 km is in Dong Thap Province and about 7.63 km is in Tien Giang Province. Component Project 2 has its starting point intersecting with Component Project 1 at Km16+000 in My Hiep Commune, Cao Lanh District, Dong Thap Province; its end point intersecting with Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway at about Km98+950 (about 1.8 km from An Thai Trung Intersection) in An Thai Trung Commune, Cai Be District.
The total land area recovered for Component 2 Project is about 83,345 hectares (of which Dong Thap province is 28,363 hectares on a route length of 3.98 km and Tien Giang province is 54,982 hectares on a route length of 7.52 km). The project has a total investment of VND 3,856 billion, and construction will begin on August 27, 2024.
The total capital plan assigned to date is VND2,941 billion. Accordingly, the capital plan for 2025 of Component Project 2 is VND910 billion. As of June 12, the investor has disbursed VND216.83 billion/VND910 billion (reaching 23.83%).
Recently, with the strong direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the great efforts and determination of the investor and supervision consultant, the joint venture contractor is urgently implementing construction with about 50 construction sites.
The value of completed construction as of June 12 is 776 billion VND/2,451 billion VND, reaching 31.7% of the value. The bridge item is currently under construction, expected to be completed in November 2025; the road item is currently processing weak soil.
Regarding the construction of the branch line at the intersection of Provincial Road 850 (intersecting with Component Project 1), the construction unit is urgently constructing, the progress meets the requirements, ensuring that when Component Project 1 is completed, it will connect to Provincial Road 850.

Regarding sand materials for construction, the total demand for sand for foundation and loading for Component Project 2 is about 1.571 million m3 . Component Project 2 is granted 2 sand mines according to a special mechanism for the contractor to exploit to serve the project.
Specifically, the sand mine in Tan Khanh Trung commune, Lap Vo district, Dong Thap province, Dong Thap province People's Committee agreed to provide 0.3 million m3 of sand according to a special mechanism for the construction of Component 2 Project (section in Dong Thap province). As of June 11, the cumulative volume of exploited sand is 276,629 m3 . Currently, the construction unit has completed the application for additional exploitation of 175,598 m3 of sand and has been approved by the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Thap province to submit to Dong Thap province People's Committee.
As for Hoa Hung 2 sand mine in Hoa Hung commune, Cai Be district, Tien Giang province, for area II of Hoa Hung 2 sand mine, Construction Joint Stock Company 368 has started exploiting sand since December 26, 2024. As of June 11, the accumulated volume of exploited sand is 209,242/656,000 m 3 . For area I of Hoa Hung 2 sand mine, Truong Son Construction Corporation has started exploiting sand since January 24, 2025. As of June 11, the accumulated volume of exploited sand is 99,490/610,000 m 3 .
To speed up the project, Tien Giang province proposed that Dong Thap province People's Committee continue to support and mobilize 4 households in My Hiep commune who are still having problems to create favorable conditions for the construction unit to implement the project. At the same time, promptly resolve and approve the policy for the contractor to exploit an additional 175,598 m3 of sand to ensure the project's progress.
The province also proposed that the Government consult the People's Committees of Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, and An Giang provinces to support stone material sources to implement Component 2 of the project.
In the coming time, the investor will continue to inspect and promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles of contractors during the project implementation process. Thereby, creating conditions for contractors to speed up construction, ensuring the completion of the project according to the set plan.
