These days, students who are waiting for the results of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year are living in a state of excitement and anxiety. Understanding this, Mr. Nguyen Minh Quy - Principal of Mac Dinh Chi High School ( Hai Phong ) - posted an article with warm content to send to teachers, parents and students about receiving the results of the 10th grade entrance exam.

From the profound conclusions of aneducational administrator and the experience of a father who has accompanied his child through important exams, Mr. Quy wrote an open letter that touches the hearts of readers.

Below is an open letter posted by Mr. Quy on his personal social media account, with excerpts of his loving messages:

I am writing these lines when there are only a few hours left until the results of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year in Hai Phong city will be announced. Surely, besides the overwhelming joy of families when their children pass, there will also be many sadnesses when the results are not as expected.

From the perspective of an education manager and also a father who has experienced the feeling of nervousness with his children during this important exam, I would like to share a few things with parents, teachers and especially students. Hopefully, we will all feel lighter, happier, avoid unnecessary worries to live happier.

First, each exam is a journey.

Each exam is not just a number on the scoreboard, but also an important milestone for you to look back at yourself. If the results are not really as expected, do not be discouraged. Consider this a strong motivation for you to try harder in the next exams.

On the contrary, passing this exam is just the beginning. This is the time for you to continue to look at and evaluate yourself and constantly practice to reach higher goals in the future.

Second, accept the results calmly.

Parents should stay calm when facing their children’s results. We should not show off scores on social networks. This is also a way to teach children humility and compassion, because their joy can accidentally touch the sadness of other children.

Teachers should not focus too much on the class's scores, because along with the joy, there will inevitably be pain for the students who have accompanied them for 4 years. Schools should also not focus too much on rankings, because to achieve those rankings, sometimes we have to sacrifice too many things, including factors that are very necessary for the sustainable development of the students.

Third, ability is not just about scores.

The tests only assess a part of the knowledge and ability at a certain time, and cannot reflect the whole ability of a person. Therefore, whether you pass or fail, you should not be too happy or too depressed.

Now is the time for families to have fun together, rest, recharge and enjoy happy moments together, instead of continuing to be tired of the results. If your child's results are not as expected, happily accept them and find a new direction with your child that is gentlest and most suitable.

Fourth, success is not determined by school alone.

Passing the entrance exam to a specialized school, a public school, a non-public school, or choosing to study a trade... is not the only factor that determines your future success. Success requires many factors and there is still a lot of time for you to assert your own value.

Believe that each path has its own opportunities and challenges, what matters is how hard you will try on that path.

Fifth, let me be myself.

Students' lives are still ahead, do not put the burden of honor, expectations or joy of parents on the shoulders of a child. Let children be themselves, explore and gradually take responsibility for their own lives. A bright future awaits them, and the most important thing is that they live happily, confidently and develop in their own way.

Underneath Mr. Quy’s post, many comments from the online community expressed their emotion at his subtle understanding. Many parents said that even though their children are adults, they still often follow Mr. Quy’s posts to broaden their perspectives and gain more motivation in work and life.
