Vietnam is entering the digital age with the strong development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) - one of the key technologies in the strategy to promote socio-economic growth. Under the auspices of the Ministry of Public Security , Vietnam Television, the National Data Center, the National Data Association and the Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank) have just announced the official organization of the "AI in Action" competition nationwide to find talent for this field.

The program is expected to become a highlight in a series of activities to promote the goal of turning Vietnam into a center for innovation, developing AI solutions and applications in the region and globally.

This is the first Artificial Intelligence (AI) competition broadcast on national television, aiming to discover and nurture technology talents, promote the AI ecosystem, and contribute to realizing the goals of the National Digital Transformation Strategy. The competition aims to create a large-scale practical playground for the technology community across the country.

The winning team in the competition, in addition to receiving the prize from the Organizing Committee, also has the opportunity to receive the "Miracle" prize from Techcombank, which is a global AI scholarship of up to 1 million USD along with the opportunity to work in this field at Techcombank, the ecosystem and the opportunity to become a Dollar Millionaire before the age of 30.

The birth of the "AI COMBAT" competition took place in the context of the Party and State identifying "Developing science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation as the top important breakthrough" in the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo . The competition is a concrete action, contributing to bringing the Resolution into life, while focusing on building an environment to nurture AI talents right from when they are still in school.

According to McKinsey’s 2024 report, 65% of the global workforce will have used generative AI. In Vietnam, 74% of businesses have adopted a digital strategy (higher than the Asia-Pacific average of 63%, according to CPA Australia), and nearly 80% of them have used AI in the past 12 months.

In particular, according to a study by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), AI could contribute an additional 12% to Vietnam's GDP by 2030, if properly developed and applied. Therefore, with "AI in action", the program promises to create an attractive TV show and receive strong attention in the artificial intelligence community - where young talents are exposed, breakthrough ideas are nurtured and AI technology is brought closer to life, thereby improving productivity and operational efficiency for the entire economy.

Over the years, Techcombank has embarked on a robust digital transformation journey, focusing on three key pillars: Digitalization, Data, and Talent. The program "AI in Action" is expected to air on Vietnam Television from September to December 2025. The final night is expected to take place in mid-January 2026.

Thereby, contributing to building a strong AI ecosystem, creating a high-quality human resource foundation for the future and promoting Vietnam's deep integration into the global technology map.
