Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province, informed that this unit has issued an official dispatch requesting the People's Committees of communes and wards; owners of durian growing areas, durian packaging facilities and authorized export enterprises to urgently coordinate to implement tasks to ensure that durian in the 2025 crop in the province meets export standards.

Specifically, authorities recommend that people and businesses only export durian when they ensure 100% control of the product from the growing area to packaging to avoid being warned by China and having the code temporarily suspended.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment emphasized: For exported durian shipments that are warned about food safety, immediately trace the origin; review the entire production, collection, processing, and packaging process to investigate the cause and organize the implementation of appropriate remedial measures and apply measures to prevent recurrence of violations.

The monitoring of growing area codes is carried out seriously and strictly to ensure export standards.
Up to now, the durian growing area in Lam Dong province has reached 43,960 hectares.

The People's Committees of communes and wards urgently review the durian area being cultivated by the pure planting method and has entered the business stage in the locality but has not yet established a dossier to issue an export growing area code and synthesize and send it to the Department of Agriculture and Environment (through the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection) before August 30, 2025 to support and guide organizations and individuals to build and complete the dossier to request the issuance of a durian growing area code in 2025, in order to expand the export market and improve economic efficiency for producers.

Localities also need to support businesses in confirming the Input Material Declaration (for durian products purchased from sellers without invoices) locally to prevent fraud in the origin of exported goods as required by the importing country. Strengthen supervision of durian product purchasing activities of authorized export enterprises and cooperatives to ensure the correct growing areas; organize dialogues, exchanges, and inspections of buying and selling activities between purchasing units and farmers to effectively manage durian production and consumption locally...

Lam Dong province currently has 337 durian export growing area codes approved by the General Administration of Customs of China.
The province's durian output in the 2025 crop year is estimated at 266,700 tons.

Lam Dong Department of Agriculture and Environment requests durian growing areas for export to strictly comply with the production process, monitor, supervise and handle pests and diseases, especially those subject to plant quarantine; adjust the cultivation process towards sustainable durian production and ensure food safety. For authorized export growing areas, it is necessary to develop an authorization contract stating clearly the responsibilities and rights of the parties involved; commit to purchasing products from the growing area for export to protect and maintain the growing area code; ensure the reputation and durian brand of Lam Dong province.

Export durian packaging facilities must develop and strictly implement one-way packaging processes, traceability, and invest in equipment to implement technical measures to meet the regulations of importing countries. Regularly and proactively analyze to strictly control plant quarantine objects, heavy metals Cd and Pb; food safety indicators in growing areas and packaging facilities to meet the requirements of importing countries; absolutely do not use Yellow O (Auramine O) in the preliminary processing and preservation of durian products.
