Egypt wants to welcome more Vietnamese to study at universities

On August 6 (local time), within the framework of his state visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the headquarters of the House of Representatives, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong met with Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives Hanafy El Gebaly.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , welcoming President Luong Cuong to visit the Egyptian House of Representatives, Speaker of the House Hanafy El Gebaly expressed his joy at the important and substantive results achieved by the two countries after the talks between President Luong Cuong and President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives affirmed that the state visit of President Luong Cuong is a clear demonstration of the determination of the leaders and people of the two countries in further deepening bilateral relations.

The Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives believes that the visit will create new momentum for the comprehensive development of bilateral relations in all fields, actively contributing to resolving regional and international issues.

Sharing about the two countries' announcement to upgrade their relations to Comprehensive Partnership and the adoption of many cooperation documents in important fields, President Luong Cuong hoped that the Egyptian House of Representatives would continue to further support the strengthening of the Vietnam-Egypt Comprehensive Partnership; and monitor and promote the effective implementation of cooperation agreements reached between the two countries.

Appreciating the role of the Vietnamese National Assembly in building and perfecting the legal system, Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafy El Gebaly expressed his wish to promote parliamentary cooperation between the two sides on both bilateral and multilateral levels.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives also suggested that the two sides increase the exchange of high-level delegations and all levels, further promote cooperation in the fields of economics, trade and investment, and hope to welcome more Vietnamese people to travel and study at Egyptian universities.

The President affirmed that Vietnam wishes to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries through parliamentary channels. He asked the Egyptian House of Representatives to support the implementation of major orientations to promote bilateral relations in an increasingly effective, substantive and comprehensive manner, including the early signing of cooperation agreements to create a complete legal framework for bilateral cooperation.

In addition to monitoring the effective implementation of high-level commitments, President Luong Cuong and the Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives agreed that the two sides should strengthen cooperation in sharing legislative experience, coordinating and supporting each other at international forums, organizations and the world inter-parliamentary forum. The two sides agreed to study the early establishment of a Friendship Parliamentarians Association to share and exchange legislative information.
