Vietjet and Rolls-Royce sign order for 40 more Trent 7000 engines for A330neo fleet
Accordingly, this order follows the contract signed at the Singapore Airshow 2024, bringing the total number of Trent 7000 engines that Vietjet has ordered to 80. The order was announced by Airbus last May. In addition, Vietjet continues to choose the TotalCare®️ comprehensive engine maintenance service, helping to optimize operating efficiency and extend the engine's operating cycle.
Speaking about this important event, Mr. Rob Watson, President of Rolls-Royce Civil Aviation, emphasized that today's commitment to order 40 more Trent 7000 engines demonstrates the airline's confidence in the combination of the Trent 7000 engine and the A330neo aircraft.
“The extraordinary flexibility of this aircraft and engine combination allows airlines to serve a wide range of markets and optimise fleet adaptability. Our £1 billion investment in Trent engine uptime enables the Trent 7000 engine to be upgraded, in some cases, to triple its uptime. Vietjet is a prominent Rolls-Royce partner in the Asia-Pacific region and we are proud to be with the airline in its journey to connect Vietnam to the world with leading technology solutions,” said Mr. Rob Watson.
Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong, CEO of Vietjet shared: "We believe in Rolls-Royce as a strategic partner, accompanying Vietjet in the vision of developing a new generation wide-body fleet. Investing in 40 more Trent 7000 engines within just one year shows Vietjet's strong commitment to expanding its international operations, especially towards distant markets such as Europe, North Asia and North America. With Trent 7000 and TotalCare service, we are getting closer to the goal of providing a global flight experience with superior quality, optimal cost and contributing to the sustainable development of the aviation industry".
Developed specifically for the A330neo, the Trent 7000 is Rolls-Royce’s latest generation of advanced engines, incorporating significant improvements in fuel efficiency, noise and durability. To date, the engine has logged over 3 million flight hours with outstanding performance.
TotalCare is a premium engine service designed by Rolls-Royce that links maintenance costs to operational time. This service package is supported by Rolls-Royce's advanced engine monitoring system, helping to increase operational readiness, reliability and operational efficiency for airlines.
Vietjet is operating more than 130 new-generation, fuel-efficient aircraft and has ordered more than 400 aircraft. This fleet serves Vietjet's plan to expand its flight network across the Asia- Pacific region and new long-haul routes to Europe and the US in the near future.
