President meets with Embassy staff and Vietnamese community in Egypt

According to the special correspondent of VNA, on the evening of August 4 (local time), on the occasion of the State visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, President Luong Cuong and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, had a meeting with officials, staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Egypt.

Reporting to the President and the delegation, Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Nguyen Huy Dung said that the Vietnamese community living and studying here is not large, with only about 70 people, including those who come with their families to live and do business in Egypt; engineers and workers working in 100% Vietnamese-owned projects and joint ventures between Egypt and foreign countries; students and postgraduates studying in Egypt. The Vietnamese community is a close-knit, united, and loving group, always with one heart towards the homeland and country.

According to Ambassador Nguyen Huy Dung, the collective representative agency and the Vietnamese community in Egypt clearly feel the attention and care of the Party and State, in accordance with the Party and State's policy of always considering the Vietnamese community abroad as an inseparable part of the country; emphasizing that the visit of the President this time is an event of special significance, demonstrating the deep concern of the Party and State leaders for Vietnamese people living and working abroad in general and in Egypt in particular.

Representatives of the Vietnamese community in Egypt spoke, expressing their joy and honor to welcome President Luong Cuong and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to Egypt. They said that despite living far away from the Fatherland, they still regularly follow the situation in the country, are happy with the country's achievements in recent years; affirm that they always maintain Vietnamese traditions and culture, help each other stabilize their lives, contribute to the host country and the relationship between Vietnam and Egypt. Representatives of the community also made a number of recommendations and proposals and wished to continue receiving attention from the Party and State.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Luong Cuong sent his sincere feelings and best wishes to the entire Vietnamese community living, studying and working in Egypt, the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and their families.

The President welcomed the Vietnamese community in Egypt for their solidarity, respect and compliance with Egyptian law, receiving sympathy from the local government and people; always looking towards the homeland and country; and highly appreciated the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt for caring for and doing a good job of working with overseas Vietnamese, helping them integrate well into the host society.

Regarding the visit of the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation to Egypt, the President emphasized that the visit aims to promote, deepen and elevate the relationship between the two countries; expand areas of cooperation and create a new stage of development for the relationship between the two countries.

Reviewing the long-standing and special relationship between Vietnam and Egypt, which was founded by President Ho Chi Minh and President Gamal Abdel Nasser, the President said that during his working days in Egypt, he will hold talks and meetings with Egypt's top leaders; in which he will discuss and request that Egypt's top leaders continue to pay attention to and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community, businesses, and students to live, work, and study in Egypt, becoming a bridge of friendship for the relationship between the two countries.

Informing the Vietnamese community in Egypt about the domestic situation, the President said that after nearly 40 years of Doi Moi, Vietnam is confidently entering a new era, an era of strong and prosperous development of the nation, striving to become a developing country with modern industry and high average income by 2030, and by 2045, become a developed country with high income.

To achieve the above achievements and implement the two 100-year strategic goals, the President emphasized that, in addition to the political determination of the Party and State leaders and the efforts of the entire political system, it is also necessary to have the consensus of the people at home and the joint efforts of our compatriots abroad. In recent times, the Party and State have proposed many important, strategic, breakthrough decisions. The entire political system of Vietnam has carried out a revolution in streamlining and streamlining the apparatus; the Politburo has issued four resolutions with a strategic breakthrough of the "four pillars", leading our country forward in the new era.

The President believes that the Vietnamese people will continue to promote the tradition of patriotism, join hands to build a developed and strong community, comply with the law and integrate well into the local society, actively contribute to the development of Egypt as well as the friendly relations between the two countries; at the same time, preserve the Vietnamese language and traditional culture of the nation, and pass it on to future generations.

During the meeting, the President asked the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt to continue to pay attention to and do better work for overseas Vietnamese, support them to integrate well into the local society, unite, develop and become stronger, as well as organize many activities to gather people, especially young people, to participate and turn towards their homeland; continue to actively propagate and implement the Party's resolutions, inspiring overseas Vietnamese in the host country to join in building a prosperous and developed country.
