Implement well the dike protection plan, protect key vulnerable dikes of the province in 2025

The total length of the dikes in the province is 152.7km (including 91km of level I - level III dikes; 32.2km of level IV dikes; 29.5km of inland river embankments). This is a very important flood prevention dike system to protect the safety of life and property of the state and people in the province and part of the area belonging to Bac Ninh province and Hanoi city.

Authorities are ready with response plans to support people when natural disasters and floods occur.

Faced with complicated weather developments, especially the increased heavy rains in the Northern and North Central provinces, the Provincial People's Committee issued Document No. 5136 requesting departments, branches and sectors, according to their assigned functions and tasks, to continue to well implement assigned tasks to ensure timely response when dike breaches occur in key areas.

Specifically, the Department of Agriculture and Environment strictly implements the assigned tasks in Decision No. 934 dated May 14, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee and according to its functions and tasks; strengthens direction, inspection and general supervision of the implementation of the 2025 provincial-level dike protection plan of relevant agencies, units and localities to ensure absolute safety for the dike, property and lives of the people; exploits and promptly updates information on meteorological and hydrological developments to serve the protection of key areas.

Responding to storm Yagi in September 2024, people in Lap Thach district proactively reinforced and built dikes to prevent water from flooding into people's houses.

Lap Thach District People's Committee finalizes the principle contract according to legal regulations to fully prepare human resources, means, tools, and materials according to the "4 on-site" motto to proactively respond when dike breaks occur in key areas; strengthen the direction, inspection, and urging of assigned communes to implement the Plan.

At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to perfecting the PCTT&TKNC Command Board immediately after the termination of district-level activities to assign commune-level to continue implementing the dike protection plan, protecting key dike points of the province as well as at key locations of key dikes determined by the district level to ensure the safety of life and property of the state as well as of the people when bad situations occur.

Direct the People's Committee of Tay Son commune to seriously implement assigned tasks and targets, closely cooperate with enterprises, households and individuals in providing materials and means in accordance with the approved Plan; consolidate, train, and gradually improve the capacity of the shock force for natural disaster prevention and control with the core being the militia and self-defense force to proactively respond and support people and local authorities when bad situations occur.
