Motivation to study of the valedictorian of Physics

Nguyen Duc Anh, a former student of class 9B, Ly Tu Trong Secondary School, Binh Xuyen District, has just become the new valedictorian of class 10 specializing in Physics at Vinh Phuc Specialized High School with an impressive total score of 53.75 (Math: 9, Literature: 8, English: 9, specialized subject score (Physics): 27.75). On the journey to conquer knowledge, his mother has always been a companion and also a motivation for Duc Anh to study and practice.

When Duc Anh was 3 years old, his father unfortunately contracted a serious illness and passed away. Since his father passed away, Ms. Luu Thi Lan Huong (Duc Anh's mother) has taken on the role of both mother and father to raise and educate him.

Knowing that her son lacked affection from his father, Ms. Huong was always by his side, taking care of his health, closely monitoring his studies, listening to his confidences and giving him useful advice to help Duc Anh be confident in life. Just like that, the boy grew up in the loving arms of his mother and both paternal and maternal families.

Loving his mother, Duc Anh always tries to study well and do housework diligently so that his mother can work with peace of mind and have more time to rest. His mother's immense love for Duc Anh is a source of motivation for him to constantly strive to excel in his studies and life.

At school, Duc Anh is a mischievous, humorous student, sociable with friends. He is very intelligent, sensitive to natural sciences , especially he loves Physics.

Ms. Vu Thi Thu Huong, teacher in charge of the Physics team at Ly Tu Trong Secondary School, said: “Duc Anh suffers from stomach pain, which has significantly affected his studies. However, Duc Anh always tries his best in his studies, has been an excellent student for many years and has achieved high results in district-level competitions for excellent students.

In grade 9, Duc Anh won third prize in the district-level Physics competition for excellent students, but due to a relapse of his stomach pain, he had to miss the provincial competition. At that time, Duc Anh's mother encouraged him to rest, recuperate, and get treatment for the disease completely.

Ms. Huong said: “I always encourage my child that studying is a lifelong task, not just a day or two. I also do not put too much pressure on my child by focusing on academic achievements, but only encourage him to constantly try and make efforts. No matter what the result is, I am always proud of him.

When my health was stable, I focused on studying and was determined to pass the Physics class of Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted. After studying hard, I fulfilled my dream of becoming a student of Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted.

Sharing his study secrets, Duc Anh said: "In class, I always focus on listening to the teachers' lectures to grasp basic knowledge. In the evening, when I get home, I spend about 2 hours reviewing what I have learned and doing advanced exercises.

As the exam approached, I spent all my time reviewing Math, Literature, English and especially focused most of my energy on Physics to complete my goal. I was very happy to have achieved good results in the entrance exam to grade 10 of high school.

However, I do not consider this as a destination but just a small step in the journey to conquer the peaks of knowledge. I will try and make more efforts in studying and training to constantly improve myself and become the pride of my mother."

It is the love, care, sharing and companionship of his mother that motivates Duc Anh to excel in his studies and life. The story of Nguyen Duc Anh's circumstances, determination and spectacular sprint to the finish line has become a source of inspiration for generations of students at Ly Tu Trong Secondary School to learn and follow. With his constant efforts and overcoming adversity, Duc Anh has become the pride of his family, teachers and friends.
