Promoting exchanges and close and effective coordination between the Embassies of Vietnam and Laos in Austria

Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang affirmed that the Vietnam-Laos friendship is a priceless asset that has always been nurtured and built by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.

Lao Ambassador to Austria Khampheng Douangthongla congratulated Vietnam on its 80th National Day.

On August 26, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), a delegation of officials from the Embassy of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in the Republic of Austria led by Ambassador Khampheng Douangthongla visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Vienna to offer congratulations.

In a fraternal atmosphere, the Lao Ambassador respectfully congratulated the Party, State and People of Vietnam on the great achievements that Vietnam has made over the past 80 years in the fields of politics , economy, foreign affairs, national defense and security; emphasizing that Vietnam has now become one of the countries with increasingly important prestige and position in the region and in the international arena.

Ambassador Khampheng Douangthongla respectfully congratulated the Party, State and People of Vietnam on the great achievements that Vietnam has attained over the past 80 years.

Ambassador Khampheng Douangthongla affirmed that the solidarity and close brotherhood between Vietnam and Laos is a special relationship founded by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane that has been and will always be maintained and promoted by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.

On behalf of the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Austria, Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang thanked the Lao friends for their affection. The Party, State and people of Vietnam always cherish the loyal and steadfast solidarity that the Lao Party, State and people have given to Vietnam in the past struggle for national independence as well as in the current cause of national construction and development.

2025 is a very special year as both countries celebrate many major national holidays. Later this year, Laos will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2025) and the 105th anniversary of the birth of President Kaysone Phomvihane, the beloved leader of the Lao people (December 13, 1920 - December 13, 2025).

The two sides reviewed some memories in the Vietnam-Laos relationship, the hardships and joys that generations of people of the two countries have overcome together.

In addition, the two Ambassadors discussed a number of measures and initiatives to promote exchanges and close and effective coordination between the two Embassies and within the framework of ASEAN at multilateral forums, the United Nations in Vienna as well as in relations with the host country.
